While saving my AP on a LINUX NAS SERVER , i'm facing very slow preformance.,

Is it 'normal' to save files over the network , and not on the Mac ?
Any suggestion for right hardware configuration ?
Which network hub/cable is recommanded ?

Any comments , will be appriciated.

I'm not familiar with those brands of switches. Looking at their web page I wouldn't buy one unless I was getting into the 16 port switches with "websmart". The other ones don't appear to be very intelligent switches.

One thing to consider is that most linux based NAS devices do not use AppleTalk 3.x, they use v2.x which is slower. So unless you change your storage device itself there's really not much that can be done.

One thing that you can try is to set the switch port for the Mac to half-duplex and see if that works any better.
