Scripting...

Hello all,

First, let me say that I don't know jack about scripting.

That aside, I would like to create some basic scripts for InDesign (Quark would be nice too) to automate some rather basic routine tasks that we apply to every job. For example, a script that could remove unused colors, remove guides from all pages, set all page margins to 0, and finally remove all text/paragraph styles without compromising any text formatted with said text/paragraph styles.

Since I don't know the code to do this, could I somehow open the AppleScript Editor and record these actions as I am doing them in InDesign? I've tried this but it doesn't seem to capture anything.

Any help with this would be more than greatly appreciated!

Happy Holidays,
Jon :)
