TrapPro "issues"

Hi All,

Having TrapPro "issues" with Harlequin 8.1

Using Quark 8.1, I have a CMYK Photoshop EPS with clipping path and Drop Shadow effect from Quark. It's placed on top of a text box, filled with Black Text. For some reason the Black Text is Trapping, "Fat". This does not happen in Harlequin 7.1.

This is not limited to Quark. If the same process is done in Illustrator, same thing.

Our current Work Flow is Printing To Postscript File, and that file sent to RIP or Distiller.
This also occurs if Printing Directly.

Thanks for any input.

How do you have the trapping set up? Is the black set to overprint in Quark? Try setting the trapping in the RIP to Auto and you will get the best results for most everything you output.
