Estimator/Scheduler - Printing Services-1502280


Job Summary

Plan and prepare cost estimates of labor, materials, and vendor services for all work requests. Assist in developing standards for labor productivity costs and related cost data. Develop and maintain schedules for all Printing Services orders. Manage project coordinators and customer service staff.

Key Functions and Expected Performances:

Develop, calculate and submit all labor and material costs for work order requests, and special projects.
Compile detailed technical lists of types of materials, equipment requirements, and other project specifications needed to complete printing orders; plan and schedule work effectively.
Work closely with supervisors and operators to monitor production standards and equipment throughput for production scheduling.
Keep accurate records of all relevant cost information for use in preparing reports of estimated vs actual performance and costs.
Attend daily production meetings to provide input regarding upcoming jobs and discuss the commitment for current jobs in progress; offer solutions to any potential issues. Work with customer service team to prioritize requests as schedules change
Assist in coordinating activities related to completion of work requests; work with vendors and subcontractors to procure bids according to specifications and scheduling requirements; work with departments to resolve cost problems.
Supervises, trains and evaluates employees.
Plan proper production workflow and schedule for both inquiries and actual orders.

Basic Qualifications

Job requires a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience OR the equivalent.


Preferred Education, Skills, and Experiences:

Five or more years of experience preferred
Offset or traditional printing background highly preferred
Experience as an estimator in a printing setting
Project coordination with estimating experience
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Flexibility to deal with changing delivery dates and specifications
Attention to details and quality control
Anticipate and address potential production challenges
Excellent problem solving ability to develop resolutions and troubleshoot problems with clients, vendors and staff while implementing solutions.
Ability to use industry specific electronic estimating/scheduling system.
Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, complex project requirements providing detailed descriptions and estimates for work planning and scheduling.
