Variable Data Programmer

Wilen New York has a Variable Data Programmer opening.

Our fast-paced marketing agency is seeking an experienced variable data programmer. Our expectations are high and critical thinking ability is a must. The optimal candidate will clearly convey the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Candidate must have a complete understanding of the processes surrounding full-color variable data printing.

Job Functions:
• Developing complex applications using GMC PrintNetT/Inspire
• Working in a team environment, coordinating with other teammates to move work through the department as accurately and efficiently as possible, while meeting our customers’ demanding delivery dates.
• Generating data-driven production files for print
• Managing document assets in GMC
• Communicating regularly with regard to job status and working on projects according to a designated priority.

Skills & Required Technical Experience:
• The ability to handle complex variable data projects including complex versioning
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with GMC PrintNetT
• Knowledge of various print streams
• Knowledge of database concepts
• Ability to diagnose and resolve production performance issues
• Willingness and initiative to grow, taking on new and more complex work.
• An eye for opportunities to automate processes, increasing overall productivity.
• Ability to document your work thoroughly

This is a full time opening; work hours are 10:00a – 6:30p. As a marketing agency, there are times when client deadlines dictate additional work hours. Our employees are expected to be available beyond standard work hours when necessary. This is an on-site position; we are not looking for work-from-home candidates.
