Hello everyone,

Can someone help to enumerate the differences/pros/cons between Kodak Trendsetter 800 and News F-AL with full commercial option?

We are planning to buy a new CtP for our commercial jobs. However, we are also looking for the possibility of making it as a backup CtP for newspapers where Kodak Trendsetter News F-AL with commercial option fits in. I would like to know what are the pros and cons for this since the main purpose is making plates for our commercial press (HDL SM 102 and Roland 705).

TIA
Lyzan

Both devices are very similar. The main difference is in the throughput and online capacity for newspaper plates. Trendsetter News F-AL is capable of dual broadsheet plate loading and imaging two plates at the same time, roughly doubling the throughput for newspaper broadsheets.

Kodak Trendsetter 800 - is a manual load/unload machine.
Kodak Trendsetter News F-AL is automatic with one bay without paper removal features. It can load 2 small plates or one 8-up at a time plus the "commercial" option on the News, gives you higher resolution laser head (2400/2540dpi - instead of the News standard 1200/1270dpi)
Imaging quality is the same (considering the commercial option for News)
If you plan on running more than 50 plates a day I strongly suggest the News machine.
