Xerox 4127 drum problems

Is anyone else experiencing the 4127 (and 4112 presumably) drum problems? After a year and a half of pretty near faultless performance, Xerox has dumped us in the crap. Xerox tells us that they changed manufacturers of the drums and that's what's causing the problems (print quality, premature wearing out). They keep on trying to source "old" drums for us, but we've now been down for 2 days while they ship one in from Holland for us as there are no more left in the UK! The problem is that this has been going on for over a month now and Xerox seem no closer to having a solution.

Does anyone have any news on this, i.e. when the manufacturing problem will be fixed? Xerox UK seems not to know.

BTW, 4112/4127 users: when your local depot runs out of "old" drums, you are in the crap.

(PS - I should say that the Xerox engineers have been very good and are trying to help, they just don't have any drums)

We are having the same problems here (U.S.) with are drums (reorder: 13R653). Are tech told us they have a "new" drum out now. It is based on the old design. The reorder number is 13R646.

After being on backorder for a week we just got 2 in and so far that are working great!

Are Xerox engineers are great too and are trying to help use a much as they can.

They told us to just keep putting them in and ordering new ones. Even if they only last 1000 clicks. Eventually the "bad" ones will cycle through their supply. Thanks Xerox!
