    prints from film

Thanks for the responses. Pretty much the answers I expected. Gordo, my thought was if I could get prints they would be easier to scan than negatives. Or even get a decent image with a photo from my phone (I've done that). Dabob, I used to work with a Topaz. We used it until it broke and we...

    prints from film

I suspect there's not an easy solution for this but... I started working for a new print/direct mail company late last year. The new company has partnered with an older print shop and a large part of my work has been recreating old jobs in InDesign so we have digital files for them. The old...

    FusionPro alternatives

We use FusionPro for our variable data software. For a lot of our work, it gets the job done just fine, but on our more complex VDP jobs we tend to have a lot of problems with it. Specifically it's type handling capabilities are very shaky, at least on the Mac version. I'm seriously considering...

Ricoh Pro C7100 textured printing problem

We have a 7110. On ours, you have to add the paper to the paper library and choose textured for the paper type. It doesn't work if you choose textured but just use a manual paper setting.

Thanks for that info Joe. That helps me out tremendously.

    Preps stand alone support

My impression is if you don't have the entire Prinergy package, Kodak really isn't interested in supporting your Preps purchase. Apple is up to OS X 10.10. The latest version of Adobe CC requires OS X 10.9 yet Preps with a dongle will only work with OS X 10.8. And no word of any plans to fix...

    Preps 7

I managed to get the name of the Kodak regional rep and after I got hold of him, he got the ball rolling. Received a quote from Kodak yesterday. Was also told the next v.7 update was coming soon and would be Mavericks compatible. Thanks to all for their input. At least those that actually had...

Comments on Fiery Color Profiler Suite?

Appreciate all the replies and feedback. We have six Fiery RIP run printers and a couple of Presstek DI's that use Harlequin based RIPS. From what I've read I'm thinking I can create profiles for the DI's with this too. Is that correct?

rago6, Thanks so much for the reply. We've had trouble getting Kodak to respond to us. That info helps tremendously.

    Preps 7

Does anyone know if Preps version 7 is compatible with OS X Mavericks? And as a side question, is Kodak interested in selling their software? We've contacted them a couple of times by phone and email. Were told on phone a salesman would get back with us. Still waiting.

    flat identifier text-changing $side

Is it possible to change the way Preps identifies the press sheet side. By default it uses A=front, B=back, C=front etc... We'd like to be able to change it to something like Sheet 1 A=front AA=back, Sheet 2 B=front BB=back. We're using version 5.2.x Any help would be greatly...

    Permissions on Preps-generated PS files

We need to have our Preps generated PostScript files saved on our Harlequin RIP rather than being deleted after they have been read in. On the RIP, in the Input Manager-->Spool folder configuration options, we deselected the "Delete on completion" checkbox which should result in the files being...
