Adobe Indesign PDF text moving

Hi all,

We seem to have rogue mac in our studio that when saving out a PDF from a Indesign document the text appears to have slightly more vertical spacing than the resulting PDFs we get from our other mac's even though the same settings are being used ?

I have checked that fonts, PDF settings, Indesign Preference & Indesign versions are the same :(

Am I missing something ?

When you say you have checked the fonts, did you check the exact version of the font? There are different font versions of eg Times, Helvetica Neue, Garamond, Gill and they can vary in leading.
Are you using font management software? Could it be metrics files that are missing/available on that machine?

As part of our checking process we where opening PDFs in Photoshop, then using the "differences" blending mode to check that nothing had gone a miss, text reflow etc. It seems from testing that we where getting slightly different results on some mac's but after checking the PDFs using a different method they all checked out ok.

man, what a way to check a pdf.
Rasterizing a PDF is not the best way to check them.
Is there a reason why you don't run a Preflight?
Is there a reason why you don't do the document compare in Acrobat?
