Oki 3641 Print Speed

One thing we have noticed in using our Oki 3641 with a Fiery Rip is a large difference in the speed at which # 10 envelopes print. Usually it prints in the 27-35 range per minute. However some will print at a 40-45 minute rate. No difference in how the envelopes have been sent to the rip, or the settings on the rip. Of course we would like to run them all at the 40-45 rate. Is their anything we are missing in the setup on rip? or, in the document? No difference if we change media weight, size @ 10 or custom. Thanks

Some basics:

- Gray-scale will print faster than CMYK
- Media Weight setting affects speed (fuser dwell time)"Medium-Light" recommended as a starting point
- Narrow envelopes (A2, A6, etc.) will print slower because the printer will pause to dissipate excess fuser heat build-up.

Why #10's with all the same settings would print at different speeds is a puzzlement.

We found our Xerox 7400 would print a bit slower if it was really humid outside, never did trace if it was humidity from the envelope or the production environment or both as envelopes were stored inside in the same room as the machine.
