Hi All, at the minute we seem to be having quite alot of static issues on the Feeder, we dont have a De ionizer or anti static bar Fitted, and we are getting alot of Doubles, we can get it to feed by either loading by hand and aerating the sheet or with alot of Adjustments to the feeder. We dont Get any issues when backing sheets up. We only ever tend to run 115 gsm and 130 gsm Far east sheet and it happens on both but not every pallet probably 3 pallets out of 4 will give us trouble. any suggestions?

are you allowing your stock to acclimate to pressroom conditions before running? Nothing worse than running paper right off the truck. (especially during winter months). Ive had some luck by undressing a skid of paper a day before running it. Ideally you want it sitting in your pressroom for at least a couple or three days before attempting to run. If you must run stock that hasnt been seasoned in the pressroom you could try using tinsel on your feeder and going down the feedboard. Just make sure its the ole fashioned metal tinsel as opposed to the new plastic stuff thats out there. Also make sure you ground the tinsel so that the static charge has a place to go!!!

put an anti-static cord, like the Static String or the Static Elastic on the feeder. The sheets should pass over the cord before they hit the stack. The have to pass over in open space, in other words they can't be lying flat. This is why the tinsel and electric static bars don't work. you can't remove static from the sheet when its lying flat. Just let the sheets pass over the cord, before they hit the stack. problem solved. here's a video of a cord on a folder: YouTube - Static Electricity on a Folder - Static Eliminators
