What do you think is the best proofing media?

There has been work done on this. Contact Trish Wales at RolocoloR. Fuji is utilizing a similar process on their sheetfed, inkjet press.

Rich,

Is this something they have been effective with yet? Is there any online information about this you know of that I could do some reading on?

I'm familiar with this - I think the Fuji jpress is the future of the industry. The solution is putting a primer coating on the substrate that makes the inkjet ink bond. It would be really awesome to be able to get this stuff and run it through an Anliox coater in-house and have a "cheap" inventory of press stocks ready to be proofed upon.

Kaoticor,
The last I heard was that two initial machines were finally getting installed Q4 of 2011 - these being the first to market. One is going to be in Michigan I believe. Information and results will hopefully proliferate publicly soon. Contact your local Fujifilm rep. they may be able to share more.
