Hello everyone, I dont know if that problem has been discussed before... I use Quark 7.5 and Distiller 8 to generate PDFs, when i open the pages in Acrobat 8 to view and go to crop pages, the ART, TRIM and BLEED BOX values are wrong, they are offset to 0,0 at the bottom left !!! As anybody...

We just installed Acro8 on a new computer, and i was checking an ad file that we received from a client. When the file starts opening, the background image is dark purple (like it should be) but when the page is done loading it turns lighter !!!! When I open Output Preview, it shows correctly...

Hi Shawn, Thanks for the info. How do you generate your EPS out of Acrobat. Will it rasterize the fonts or leave them as is? I tried converting a file but when I import in quark, it gave me the gray page with Postcript Picture !!!!

almaink, The way i was planning on working it was to print to postscript and then hot folder to Distiller, we dont use InDesign yet !!

So what do you do when you place a pdf in a quark doc to generate a final PDF and you get a message saying: Some EPS/PDF pictures in this document use screen fonts not available in your system, including: USVCTE+CaliforniaFB-Reg-Identity-H.... What does that mean?

That's the problem with PDF in my opinion. It's a very good concept but used in WAY too many fields. It has made things simpler for many but at the same times a lot more complicated for us... again, my opinion. I have to say that I'm new at using PDF, I havent even sent a job to press yet... BUT...

Maybe I don't know how to do it but when I try using the Flattener Preview and the PDF Optimizer in Acrobat Pro 8 to convert text to outlines it doesnt converts it !!!! Can somebody help me PLEASE.... Art

Well, if it's from a multi page document, you can use Badia Exportools which works great....
