    Konica C6000 v Ricoh C751ex

No, I can use the finisher/stacker no problem. You just have set it to 220gsm when you add the paper to the tray. As long as it fuses, then the 220 setting does not create a problem. I do this regularly with Moorim 130# gloss cover, Cougar #100 Digital (uncoated) cover, 12pt Kromekote, 12pt C2S...

    Konica C6000 v Ricoh C751ex

I regularly run 130# gloss cover (which is well over 300gsm) through our Xerox 700 with finisher. I just call it 220 in the paper settings and I have never had any fusing or jamming issues at all. What type of paper are you using?

Xerox 700 Fiery EX700 install DVD

Yes, the service on the Fiery is included with the machine. They will replace a DAMAGED disk, but not a MISSING one. I tried to convince the service tech into saying the disk was damaged instead of missing, but he said that would be unethical and he couldn't do that... They told me that the...

Xerox 700 Fiery EX700 install DVD

Our Hard Drive crashed on our EX700. Our Xerox tech came in to put the new HD in, but it turns out we are missing one of the Install DVDs. We have the disk labeled System Software CD0, which is the first disk you use, but then it asks for one labeled "System Software DVD1", which we are missing...

Presstek 52 DI ink slow to dry

Coated or Uncoated Stock?? We use Toyo inks on our QMDI and even with heavy solids when we run on Coated stock (usually 80# gloss text) we can cut in an hour off press using minimal powder. Uncoated stocks obviously take a longer. We have also used the Heidelberg DI line of inks and they also...

    Xerox 240 vs. 242

Were looking at replacing our Doc12 with a used or refurbished 240 or 242... I'm trying to decide if the 242 is worth the extra money... they are usually a few thousand more than the 240s I'm seeing. What were the main upgrades for the 242? Does the 242 have any major advantages regarding...

Never mind. Turned Windows Queue on in Meta, and connected as a Windows shared printer in Snow Leopard.

Invisible Files in my Hot Folders - Win NT Harlequin Rip

Re: Invisible Files in my Hot Folders - Win NT Harlequin Rip I ended up just filtering out the ._ prefix on the HQ rip, then hidding the hidden files in Folder views. Works great. Thanks.

Invisible Files in my Hot Folders - Win NT Harlequin Rip

I have a Harlequin Rip running on a Win NT box. I recently had reinstall everything after a hard drive crash. Since the reinstall, Anytime a 1-BitTiff is dropped in a hot folder or moved to my Completed Jobs Folder, I get a 4K copy of the file that has "._" in front of the file name right next...

Which envelope feeder for a Quickmaster-46?

Re: Which envelope feeder for a Quickmaster-46? We finally have our Astro and we've got it running pretty good with our Quickmaster (haven't tried the QMDI yet). My only questions are: 1. Is this thing supposed to be this loud? Loud smacking sound for each envelope fed. Not from the envelope...

    Laminating Doc-12 prints

Re: Laminating Doc-12 prints A little pricey for the occasional laminator. Also just heard back from my old digital supplier, and they claim decent luck with D&K's SuperStick laminate on their Docucolor 6060 prints. Which should be basically the same as Doc 12 prints, right?

    Laminating Doc-12 prints

Re: Laminating Doc-12 prints Just ran a test with 2 sheets. One of them I wiped down with a soft cloth to get rid of the fuser oil haze. The other I did nothing. The sheet that was wiped off laminated great. Laminate stuck to it almost as good as regular offset prints. On the other sheet, the...

    Laminating Doc-12 prints

Re: Laminating Doc-12 prints We had previously laminated (using our current laminate) some menus that were printed on a Nexpress with no problems. I thought that the Nexpress used fuser oil (I must have been wrong), so I figured that our Doc-12 output would work as well, but there is no...
