    CIP3 Files

Our Komori uses proprietary software "Bladsetter" that interprets/converts the file created by the RIP in Pre-press. After the file comes through the Bladesetter, it sits in a hot folder that the Press crew can import to start the make ready.

No one talking about corona virus yet? - Thoughts on slowing down

If anybody has access to Continuity of Operations for their company, you might be able to answer his questions or give him guidance. Has anyone out there made plans for staffing? Pay options, layoffs, insurance coverage, etc? Any creative ideas?

Missregistration between fist and second printing station.

Before you spend too much time on it. I would recommend you have a tech put a dial indicator on each unit and see if anything is worn or moving around. If the units are stable try to adjust your print length with packing adjustments, then adjust your plate cyl squeeze to be uniformed.

Missregistration between fist and second printing station.

Are you saying the that unit 4 is printing longer than unit 1 ? Is this a new problem ? or reoccurring daily problem ? If you can't measure the cyl. bearer height? Start with cylinder packing and torque.

Changeover concerns for Conventional Offset to UV & back to Conventional Offset

    gloss meter

We have a cheap meter that we use about 2 X per month. ETB-0686. Our meter reads the same as the coating rep's high dollar meter, no idea how long it would last if you used it everyday. We have had it for about 3 years. No complaints. We have compared it to the coating rep's meter a few times...

Prepress vs Press Finger Pointing (Plate Remakes)

Gordo is correct about the chemistry test plate. Tell the Pressroom you want every "bad" plate back with their initials on it. Pressmen, 2nd Pressmen, floor guy, helper...whomever may have serviced the plate on press and/or filled the chemical bottles on the press. You might spot a trend that...

    G7 AM vs. Concentric

Hey guys Thanks David, I am sure it was related to the cost of the assistance and/or training. Not anything to do with Esko. The ring and spacing questions and how it impacted the dot gain were challenging to track. We were running live work so the stocks were all different, no house stock at...
