Enfocus SWITCH and Fuji XMF - to intergrate or not

I agree with your thoughts. You have the building blocks for a complete automated workflow using Pace, Metrix, XMF and Switch. It would be foolish to give up what you already have going. Talk to Enfocus. They can advise you.

Rampage v13 to XMF or Prinergy.

We are in the exact same position here although we are not planning to replace our screen platesetter, only the front end. I would love to hear from any xmf, Apogee or Prinect users out there concerning hybrid workflows, trapping, and service contract costs and experiences. Thanks!

    Hyphen ImpoProof Reviews

We have been running the Impoproof for a number of years. We have found it to be a rock solid solution with good support. We had a spinjet before the Impoproof and it is a much better and more dependable alternative to the Spinjet. Telephone support can remote in and fix the majority of...

    Rampage Upgrade costs

Rampage Proofs Rampage Proofs We are running Rampage 12.2 and use either the NORM or ROOM workflow depending on the type if file we are sent. We send pdf proofs from Rampage from both workflows. A Rampage pdf proof is not a true vector pdf, but is a raster file with a pdf wrapper for viewing...

POLL: Automated or Manual Two-Sided Proofing?

We also use a Canon Impoproof. We have just upgraded it to 8300s. If you don't use automated backup, you are really not checking your impositions.

    Rampage beachball

I've been reading through this for a couple of days, and you really need to upgrade your rip box, and your Rampage version. ExtremeZ-IP is worth every penny as well. You are operating with software and hardware that is probably five or six years old. How old is that server? We are running the...

    PDF to Illustrator Font Issues

PDF to Illustrator PDF to Illustrator Acrobat 8 Professional (and I'm sure 9) will do what you need without a 3rd party. Open the file in Acrobat and "Save as" eps including all embedded and referenced fonts. Then open in illustrator and save as an Illustrator pdf. Illustrator will give you a...

    Quark 8 and Rampage

Quark 8 and Rampage My suggestion is to make a PDF and rip using the Rampage pdf engine. That was generally the best way to handle Quark 7 transparency and Rampage tech told me it still applies. If you can get a good pdf without stitching lines, you can get a good rip file. Font Wizard has a...

Rampage and Getting Started with JDF

Re: Rampage and Getting Started with JDF Clarke, We had a Rampage trainer in for one day to get us jump started with JDF. We are moving more and more of our regular work to it. Basically you make a generic imposition job which is placed on the que. When the pages come in they automatically...

    resistance to new technologies/workflows

Re: resistance to new technologies/workflows I am the workflow planner in our company and I know what you are going through. As some have already stated: 1. Have your vendor come in and demo potential new products for the higher ups. Get them onboard and excited. Saving money always works for...

    Archiving RIP data?

Re: Archiving RIP data? Cory, Archive the 1 bit tiff plate files. We have been archiving the 1 bit tiffs to CD or DVD directly from our CTP device for over 4 years. The media then goes into our job jacket, which is pulled as history on the next order, and transferred to the new ticket. Very...
