    Image size smaller at tail

Been having some registration problems with our Shinohara 65iip (c. 1986). Unit one is great. Unit two the image at the tail is 1/32 narrower than the image at the gripper (and also narrower than unit one.) Triple checked packing, undercut and all that. Put two of the same kind of blanket...

Can't print to nework printers out of Mac OS 10.6.7

Tried with the queue name after the ip address and had the same result. For the time being I'm putting the G5 back in place so I can get some work done. Thanks Apple, what was so wrong with Appletalk anyway? Years ago when I had our two copiers installed they techs spent hours trying to get the...

Can't print to nework printers out of Mac OS 10.6.7

Encountering a similar problem with an older Canon imagePass L1 controller for my ir5000 copier and our OpenRip Symphony Rip for the Xante VM-4. After a few frustrating hours I got the imagePass-L1 and ir5000 to work, but the Xante is a different story. I can get to the point where it looks like...

    Violet Systems Cleaner?

I'm using a Rip-It (Xante) VM-4 with Graphline Violet plates and chemistry. We have the Printrunner P24 Processor. Was wondering what systems cleaner others who have violet chemistry are using? Any procedural suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

    HELP! PrePress Solutions PantherPlus Imagesetter

Don't know for sure, but sounds like your page buffer drive died. If you have a dual page buffer machine you can still get by. Slower but functional. If you only have one, good luck finding a replacement and if you do, let me know if you find a source. I would check with some repair places like...

Another item to consider if it is crashing during ripping or printing is a bad page buffer drive. Is your panther set up with single or dual page buffer drives? If you have two you can disconnect one at a time and try to find the culprit. It will still work with just one. Don't know if Bob...

    Large Plate won't center

Received some info from Xante. Use the OpenRipNT.ppd found in the Generic ppds folder on the CD. Got it to work. Had to set specific page sizes for my Inposition files to ensure that they centered, but the Quark and InDesign files centered fine.

    Large Plate won't center

I picked up a used VM-4 with Symphony Open RIP version 2, build 311. I've imaged small press plates for our Ryobi 3200 with great success sending files from Quark, Acrobat or InDesign, with or without crop marks. I'm now trying to image larger plates (25-5/8 x 21-5/8) and after the file is...

    Introduce yourself!

My name is Marc I've been in the printing industry for 40 of my 53 years. Dad bought a small Newspaper/Job shop in Idaho when I was 13. It was all letterpress. The newspaper was printed on a Lee 2 revolution hand fed press. Stood there for hours stream feeding 24 x 36 sheets of newsprint. We...

    Job Security

We had the "Senior Class Alcoholic After Graduation Party" instead of Non-Alcoholic. Was proofed by the Superintendent of Schools as well. Glad we had a signed proof and didn't have to answer the phone calls. Probably was the best attendance that class had all year.

    HELP! PrePress Solutions PantherPlus Imagesetter

We had a bad spot on our hard drive of the Panther RIP. When the computer tried to write to it the Panther would hang up and no longer write. We put the software on another Mac and its been running fine. A bit slower because it was an older Mac but working none the less. We're running Quark...
