    New Xanté Ilumina

Sorry, I sort of fell off the earth. I'm very grateful to all the responses and giving me direction. I will continue research with all this in mind. Cheers!

    New Xanté Ilumina

Wow, great feedback everybody! I greatly appreciate it. I had a feeling from some previous comments that this might be a less than desirable machine. Thank you all for confirming! Have a great rest of your week! Edit: So for a smaller budget, say around $15k, is there a comparable machine that...

    New Xanté Ilumina

Hello, friends, long time no see. Thanks in advance for anyone reading and giving input on this. We are looking at a Xanté Ilumina for heavy stock digital printing. My question is if anybody has one and if so, how well does it work? Our goal is to print on a minimum of 16pt paper, full color...

    HP Designjet 5500 Bloated Cartridges

Hey all, Curious of any of you have had experience with the HP Designjet 5500. We've had one for years but recently it's starting to make the cartridges bloat up with air and get stuck in the machine. This also seems to affect the quality of print. We've added new cartridges, printheads, etc...

    Avantra Film Processor Slime

Minty fresh imagesetters sound delightful. One thing I discovered is upon putting the dirty film through the processor again that the spots on the film actually developed into full density emulsion. I'm thinking algae doesn't normally develop. It maybe the emulsion is not rinsing away properly?

    Avantra Film Processor Slime

VladCanada, greatly appreciate the quick response. We actually have a tablet with special plastic bottle dispenser we leave in the rinse. Maybe that isn't hacking it anymore. I'll try your suggestion. I'm sure it will take awhile before we notice a difference. I'll get back in a week or so I...

    Avantra Film Processor Slime

Hey all, been awhile. I've got a bizarre issue with my online processor for our old Avantra Selectset 30 film imager. We've been getting white specs on the film when it comes out. I've check the developer, fix and rinse to see where this might be occurring. To my surprise the rinse was filled...

    Avantra 30 Frecuently Error 55 and 53

On the bridge, try opening the side facing the control panel. Inside is a belt and some gears. We often times get the belt jumping the gears. If it's loose, then you need to find where it jumped off the gear. If this is the issue, you might want to make sure the belt hasn't stretched. You may...

Windows XP to Mac OS X

This maybe beating a dead horse being 10 days later from original post, but there is a way to access a Fiery rip to get the most compatible software and printer files. If you know the IP address of your Fiery RIP you can dial that in with a web browser and download the Command Workstation and...

    External Drive

Did the drive come with setup disks? Could always try reinstalling drivers if it had any. Was the drive working before? Is it possible to connect it to a second machine and see if it mounts?

    Plastic frames for posters

Re: Plastic frames for posters We've actually have offered this service for quite a few years ourself. We have a table device to crimp and cut the framing to size. We do maybe half a dozen projects a year if that. It's neat stuff but most of our clients prefer their finished pieces without it.

    Mutoh Valujet + Backlit Material

Hello all, Just curious if anybody here has a Mutoh Valujet. We have one and it does a fine job on almost all the materials we use except for our 7mil backlit material. We get streaky results and the biggest issue is the black. When using the black, even with rich black, once it's backlit it...

    better Xerox or Konica ?

Re: better Xerox or Konica ? I'll try to get my 2 cents in here. We had the Docucolor 2045 which of course is the little brother to the 2060 and we now have the Konica C650, the big brother to the 500. I figure they should be close enough for comparison. Our Docucolor was pretty bulletproof. It...

Maximum print length - Epson 9800?

Re: Maximum print length - Epson 9800? Using an Onyx Rip we've successfully achieved a 16' print. We haven't tried longer but I'm sure we could reach a higher limit. Earlier iterations of the Onyx rip limited us to 95" but updates solved that issue. I'm sure the limitations of Photoshop don't...

Replacing a Iris 43 wide with an Epson 9800???

Re: Replacing a Iris 43 wide with an Epson 9800??? Epson 9800 here works like a charm. We've had it since it first came out and have had next to no issues. We have an Onyx rip running it along with Nexus rip. Thing does everything we need. It seems slow these days but compared to our other...
