If you can possibly open the doc in Quark 7, see if the text is formatted using a kerning different than the default. Could be Quark 8 is not importing that info. If you can't open it in QXD 7, maybe your customer can check.

This sounds familiar. I often error out trying to export out of InDesign CS2 to a flash drive to sneakernet the pdf. Can't say why this is happening, but always workaround it by saving to desktop first and then dragging to the flash.

Larry, we do many variable data jobs here that require interleafed stacks. The program we use is FusionPro Desktop 5.8 and FusionPro Imposer. They should be able to accomplish what your asking for.
