    Canon 7000

Re: Canon 7000 Yep, thats about right. I have 2 of them and my experience is that we have an engineer in every day and on the occassions that the engineer does not come in we have toner drops on the sheet or fading on the edges of the sheet.

HP Indigo 5500 Vs. Xerox iGen3

Re: HP Indigo 5500 Vs. Xerox iGen3 Ok, thats good. Thanks for that. To meet our monthly volume commitments we have to run two Canon Imagepress' for 12 hours a day. Fact is there is a high proportion of downtime that I have to pay the minders for. They hang around bored whilst the engineer tries...

HP Indigo 5500 Vs. Xerox iGen3

Re: HP Indigo 5500 Vs. Xerox iGen3 Thats pretty good mate. Im trying to do about 10,000 clicks a day (1.5 million since mid Nov 07) and all on 300gsm. Do you think it would stand up to that kind of consistent output? Whats the suggested monthly duty cycle? Thanks.

    Printing white from inkjet printer?

Re: Printing white from inkjet printer? Patrick is right, this sounds like spot UV, most probably litho'd or screenprinted. The other option of course is spot varnishing...hmm but possibly not on CD's. UV is a huge enterprise and will definitely not be included on a small inkjet printer, that...

How to motivate sales people in the printing industry

Re: How to motivate sales people in the printing industry Yes that is the eternal quetsion, why does production run at full tilt and the sales guys seem to lack the same drive. I've worked in litho, web, gravure and now digital...nothing changes except the technology. I long for the day that...

HP Prints - how to protect

Hi all, Im running loads or rolls of HP Matte Litho Realistic Paper on HPZ6100's. The quality is uber good, but if there are solid areas of ink coverage the prints are prone to marking. It seems that even weeks later the waft of a wasps wing in Wellington NZ can scuff my bloody prints. I've...

    Help in choosing A1 Printer

Re: Help in choosing A1 Printer Mate, I run a giclee house in England. I have 15 x HPZ6100's, 7 x Epson 10600's & 10 x HP5500's. We do loads of the work for London gallery exhibitions. We pump out around 7000 prints per week. We've found the HPZ6100 coupled with a GMG colourproof workflow just...

Canon iPF8000, is two sided printing possible?

Re: Canon iPF8000, is two sided printing possible? I was given a 8000 to try. I raced it against one of my 15 HPZ6100's. It was slightly faster...until it started banding. By the time I had the thing clean the HPZ was long gone. I then tried reloading the media print side down on the two...
