Yep the basic version of XMPie (uCreate) still use Qlingo, but if go to the next step and get uPlan you can use SQL as well. Most of the basic Qlingo functions aren't that hard to get your head around if you comfortable with most formulas in Excel - the syntax is a little different is all.
