    Roland SP-540V

After being out of the print industry (pre-press & digital printing) for a couple of years I'm now venturing back, though this time in the wide format arena. I've gotten myself a Roland SP-540V and would like to know any feedback out there on this machine, the good and the bad

    Looking for Roland Print+cut

I'm looking to buy a Roland print and cut wide format printer, i.e. a CJ-50, CJ-40 or a Versacamm. I will definitely consider a machine a machine that needs repair if the price is right.

    Calibration destroying image quality

I do have suppliers, just need to get the stuff ordered. I was always told the 2060 needs daily calibration, actually that all production machines should be calibrated daily for optimal performance, some of the newer machines have built in calibration devices so do it even more often, I guess...

    Calibration destroying image quality

I only calibrate to one stock, art matte 130 gsm, and use that for all stock because it's the stock I use for most of my printing. Considering we calibrate at least once daily, if not more, then it would be quite a task to do so many different stocks. This has worked OK, I really think the issue...

    Calibration destroying image quality

Well, my calibration strips for the X-rite are dirty so I guess that has an effect, discovered I can use my other densitometer, a DTP34 instead, that one has a nice clean calibration strip and my prints are now good.

    Calibration destroying image quality

I just discovered that when I calibrate my Xerox DC2060 (on Fiery EX2000d, calibrated with X-rite DTP32) I don't get as strong solids as when I just tell the Fiery to use the "Default Calibration". As an example solid reds (M=100, Y=100) become a bit orange when calibrated yet they are fine...

    DC 240 drum problems!!??

Are you aware that you can get OPC drums etc from 3rd parties to rebuild a drum at a fraction of the cost of an original? I get these for my 3535 (purple drums) and they work very well. About the 5000 I've heard that their drums also don't last very well, aren't they the same as in the DC250...

    Xerox 240 vs KM 6500

So that's probably a Fiery, if you check under "server, manage color" in CWS you will find the menu for calibrations and it's identical to a stand alone Fiery. I use the X-rite DTP32 I got with my DC2060 and its stand alone Fiery to calibrate my DC3535 with embedded Fiery and all from the same...

    Xerox 240 vs KM 6500

You should already be using a calibration tool on your DC240's.

    freakin' 700!!!

I find this amazing and somewhat scary. I've had enough troubles with my old DC2060 but paper feeding from the big tray is the least of them, it just keeps pulling A4s and SRA3s, mostly 130gsm and 300 gsm coated without jamming in the tray, even did some 350 gsm the other day and it's only rated...

Xerox Docucolor Toner VS. WorkCenter ?????

Just wondering if I can use developer from a DC5760 in a DC2060? I know, at least I think I do, that DC12 developer is the same as DC2060 but in my neck of the woods I can't get any 2060 or DC12 developer but the 5760 developer is available. Thanks in advance

    Xerox 700 Artwork

Did it on a 3535 with Fiery RIP, same, I can't see any difference so this must be very particular to the 700 though I'd have thought I'd see some difference.
