    spotting on plate

Yes, the spots are in the non-image area. No, they do not go away during the run. They do not go away unless I use deletion fluid. I tried just cleaning the plate and blanket and they still remain. I thought it may have been floaties in my activator, but I etch my plates before they go on...

    spotting on plate

I'm having a problem with spots appearing on my plate during make-ready or a run. I can't figure it out. I thought it might be a bad batch of chemicals or plates, but they've all been changed and I'm still having this issue. I have a DPM2340 from Presstek. It's about four years old but very...

    Roller Suggestions

From the research I've done and what other pressmen have told me, once a year is about average for changing inkers, sometimes two years but no more than that. Water should be more frequently. Roller companies such as bottcher will tell you that if you use their clean up products and wash up...

Envelope Printing with a Konica (bizhub) 6500

We have a C6500 and were told that if we had the bypass tray instead of the high cap drawers, it would do envelopes. I have a hard time seeing it get through the booklet maker without getting lost, but we'll never know. BUT we do have a very old Ricoh Aficio that ran anything through the...

    Gear Streaks

Re: Gear Streaks Well, my technician replaced the gears in the water unit and I still have the streaks (no surprise). They refuse to believe it could possibly be bearings or an incorrect pressure setting. They're starting to blame the plates, which I've also ruled out. How could I check and...

    Gear Streaks

Re: Gear Streaks Yeah, I checked all the forms for bounce and end play and they all looked good. I just had the gears replaced in the water unit as they were very sloppy. It looks better but the jury is still out. I'll let you know if it fixed it or not.

    konica 6500 -xerox 5000

Re: konica 6500 -xerox 5000 We had a 6500 in our shop on a trial period last summer. We got it from a dealer, not KM, and it just didn't work. It had the inline booklet maker and stapler finisher, the extra capacity drawers, a lot of stuff. There were a lot of issues including poor service...

    Gear Streaks

Re: Gear Streaks is it possibly caused by worn or loose gears in the water system doing that same slapping, possibly making the form roller skid on the plate and wearing it out?

    Gear Streaks

Re: Gear Streaks I take it back...both units are doing it.

    Gear Streaks

Re: Gear Streaks Yeah, I checked those. The blanket is manufactured by Ryobi for this press and the plate pressure is adjustable to the thickness of the plate. It also only appears to do it on the second unit. The first unit is fine, which obviously uses the same plates and blankets.

    Gear Streaks

Re: Gear Streaks There has not been a large jam up. The press is a 2000 so it has some age to it but my cat is older. I use the Ryobi blankets that are made by Ryobi with their matching under blanket. That is all I pack. I actually checked the pressure nips when I replaced this set of...

    Gear Streaks

I'm getting horizontal streaks across my blanket on my 3302M. They're about 1/16" wide and about ever 1/8" down the blanket for the entire blanket. The lines seem to coincide with the gear teeth. What causes this and how do I fix it?

    Roller Suggestions

Re: Rollers Re: Rollers Well, I was just posting this as a general discussion to hear people's opinions but I run a 3302. I haven't been printing all that long so this website is great, learning from people with more experience than me (there is no one else in my shop that knows how to print...
