    I'm assuming you are using a RIP to drive the printer, if so you might also look to see if there is a media feed adjustment in the RIP software as that might address the issue. The paper feed adjustment seems like the right approach though. You might also try doing a head alignment as well...

Since matte black rarely(never) gets used on most proofing workflows it can get clogged due to lack of use, when you do a cleaning the purged ink can be expelled...
