    Spinflow manual

Hi everyone, i have been tasked with installing Spinflow software at a client site. Does anyone have a copy of the latest manual in PDF format that they could send me. If so I will be forever in your debt... And will dedicate my next child to you... ;-) thanks

Image viewed on Mac and PC different

The client only runs on a Mac... if you are viewing the monitor proof of the ripped data... you are not on a PC. If it is a proof PDF the file should be the same for either platform... it's a classic case of it is what it is.

    Rampage beachball

One of the things that tended to slow the system down was having a ton of Font or image lists... to check if this is the problem... from the client go to the edit menu and check for either of these sets of lists... if there are any there from old jobs that are no longer in the system... delete...

Apple Security Update 2012-001 - DO NOT INSTALL!!!!

Apple released a new security update which fixed the problem aprox. 3 or 4 days later. It didn't just affect Preps... it affected everything that used Rosetta... including a number of Microsoft products, etc.

Apple Security Update 2012-001 - DO NOT INSTALL!!!!

FYI Do not install Apples latest security update issued yesterday... It breaks all print dialogs as well as file save dialogs in Rosetta Applications... these include Print dialog in Preps 5... essentially rendering it useless.

    .RLU files

In the Tech Notes section of the manual is an entry called "Custom RGB to CMYK Conversion"... That area explains how to create your own custom Lookup Table. I hope that helps. If you can't fimd your manual... a copy of it is on the Rampage install CD.

    .RLU files

You don't need to use colorblind... there is another way of doing it via Photoshop... I don't have the manual handy... but I am sure it is in there... It is a matter of opening up a particular file from the CD and converting it using Photoshop... and then reading it into the rip.

    .RLU files

The lookup tables in version 10 did a decent conversion unless you got into RGB files using sRGB... then they were pretty bad... since that version they have updated the conversion tables significantly. If you are looking for the actual files they are in the Rampage folder on your server...

Mac share in Win 2008 (for Prinergy Connect)

Services for mac are not available on a windows 2008 server... you would need to install extremez-ip or some other similar product

    Bleed lines

Bleed Lines Bleed Lines If you are using JDF you have the ability to have the system automatically create trim, bleed and sheet lines. The key is using JDF.:)

    rampage interface card

The Board only works using a Rampage Rip. The Rampage Rip comes with the drivers for the board. As for which image/plate setters the board works with... I would give Rampage a call. Their number is 781-891-9400:)

If by soft proof you mean a Rampage Monitor Proof... then to plate... I have never seen a discrepency. I have seen poorly prepared PDFs that rip differently from what is expected. But that could be true in any workflow.
