    Quick comparison Xerox press's

Just a footnote to the conversation, as far as the "engines" of the V80/180 and V2100/3100... Although they are clearly different designs (unlike the 800/1000 where the only differences are electronic, to enable the faster speed, as you mentioned) they are, for all practical purposes, the same...

    Versant 3100 and 180

Both the Versant 80, 180, 2100 and 3100 have a Xerographic (as well as toner cartridge) design that is extraordinarily similar to the 700/770/C75/etc machines... They redesigned the drums, and all four are the same now rather than a black one and a color style for CMY. Improved PCR cleaning...

    Versant 3100 and 180

It isn't edge-to-edge printing in the way I think that you are thinking about it (no or very minimal white margins on the sheets) like some printers do. What it can do, with the new finishing options, is cut off the white margins... Basically, the redesigned finishers are the largest change I...

Xerox Docucolor Toner VS. WorkCenter ?????

No... The mechanical aspects of the DC5000 and the DC250, etc are similar in the xerographic areas, but it is designed for the older, oil-requiring toner that is used in the 2060/6060/8000, etc. Even though the cartridges are the same, the toner loaded in them is TOTALLY INCOMPATIBLE... (Since...

Xerox Docucolor Toner VS. WorkCenter ?????

Yes, EA-HG developer is EA-HG developer, etc. But as you said, the quantities are not the same, and you can't measure what you dump out to find out how much to put in, because that is already mixed with fresh toner from the cartridge and is old to boot. It is important to load the right amount...

Xerox Docucolor Toner VS. WorkCenter ?????

    Yep. EA-HG for those models.

    Challenge (Bourg) DocuTrim

That is what I suspected. I opted for a programmable "general purpose" cutter instead. How did they resolve the problem? Seems like all the mechanics involved in the blade travel would not be modifiable without some crazy serious engineering... Thanks for the input!

    Challenge (Bourg) DocuTrim

Wondering if anyone here has any experience with these machines? They've been discontinued a while, so it is pretty hard to get details, so I was wondering about personal impressions. They appear to basically be a pretty straightforward paper cutter, but with the additional of a robotic arm to...

    Do We Have A Xerox DC250 or 260 ??????

This isn't true worldwide. It may be true in 200-240v territories, but is isn't in North America where the DC250 is a 110v machine and the DC260 is a 220v machine. Of the 240/242/250/252/260 series, all BUT the 260 were 110v. Obviously they are nearly identical, but the power supply systems and...

    Do We Have A Xerox DC250 or 260 ??????

If it is 60ppm in color single-sided on plain paper, its a DC260, if it is 50ppm, its a 250. Whip out a stopwatch. ;) If you're in North America, the 260 is a 220v machine while the 250 is a 110v machine, so there is little chance of a mixup.

    Xerox 1000 v Konica Bizhub C8000

Actually it looks like the toner is the same as the 7002/8002... The toner MSDS sheet has been updated to include all three models. 7002/8002/8080 While you can't look at two separate MSDS sheets and conclude two products are the same based on having the same ingredient list, when they have...

    Xerox 1000 v Konica Bizhub C8000

Well those are all certainly legitimate, potentially very interesting improvements... So the new "new low gloss toner" is even newer than the old "new low gloss toner"? haha From reading here I gather there were some issues with color balance and whatnot. (Of course, from reading here, it is...

    Xerox 1000 v Konica Bizhub C8000

Any idea what the difference is between this new model and the 8002? Other than huge blue covers, that is. ;)

    Xerox 1000 v Konica Bizhub C8000

Well, it only works because I enjoy it. If I didn't, I'm sure compared to calling in a service appointment (even when it takes a day or so to get back up and running) it would would be miserable. As for parts, that's not such a problem. There are places to get what I need, like developer...

    Xerox 1000 v Konica Bizhub C8000

If they can go down that much on the 1000, they can surely go down on the 800, too. Play hardball. With lead-filled balls. Sales people are always playing games with us... They deserve it. ;) If you point out that it is up against the much cheaper C8000 from Konica, they'll probably jump. If...
