I´ve tried your CIELab vales with two different offset profiles (CMYKOB) made with two different profilers (including i1Profiler) and I don’t get any Orange % in the converted output values. What is your printing process/equipment you are trying to profile? Louis.

If I remember, the IPA roundup showed that some solutions (was one of them ;-) were way better than others. If you want to evaluate an ink saving solution, look at the CMY under the black channel separation. Black generation is the KEY for such ink saving solution. Maybe they all could look...

About your G7 curves and Pantone book: are you using the Pantone + Color Bridge CMYK builds? If so, that is "normal" you are not getting the expected results. Thos CMYK builds are not made for 25% dot gain but close to 16% and there is no reference profile or specific print conditions (RPC) that...

Hello Lukas, I agree with you! I am working in production AND education/training. You are right… understanding what is a solid Pantone, Pantone simulation (in CMYK) and CMYK color recipes base on a specific print condition IS THE KEY they have to learn and understand!
