    i1Profiler - 7 Color Profile Contamination

Hi Schnitzel, I visited Landa web site... very nice presses ;-) What is the ink sequence on press? which profiling target have you used? Louis Couleur911.com

    i1Profiler - 7 Color Profile Contamination

I´ve tried your CIELab vales with two different offset profiles (CMYKOB) made with two different profilers (including i1Profiler) and I don’t get any Orange % in the converted output values. What is your printing process/equipment you are trying to profile? Louis.

    i1Profiler - 7 Color Profile Contamination

Hi, Maybe the problem comes from the black generation settings you are using? Which settings have you used? UCR? Louis Couleur911

From Alwan to Agfa's Ink Save?

If I remember, the IPA roundup showed that some solutions (was one of them ;-) were way better than others. If you want to evaluate an ink saving solution, look at the CMY under the black channel separation. Black generation is the KEY for such ink saving solution. Maybe they all could look...

    Color Muse

Hi Gordo, I see what you mean. If you make measurement, you will get the color infomation of the color you measured. But from the "paint color" example, there is no way to see the Lab, RGB, etc. Also, there is no way to share palette with others. The only way to share is via Adobe ASE file but...

    Color Muse

You can download the app for iphone or Android et see yourself the UI. It is basic but you get Lab, RGB, LCH, etc.

    Color Muse

I have one and made some test with it. As far as color comparison between 2 colors, it works pretty well. It also allows to get D50 Lab value readings. Made comparison with I1Pro2... not too bad ;-) What is missing: does not allow to import your own color library made from colorimetric data. You...

Why should I print with Dot Gain?

100% agree with you Mike! The new Lab references with Pantone + is the best starting point! My only concern is about the Pantone+ Color Bridge (CMYK values) that are NOT based on a "known, published" RPC. This is, I think, a problem when graphic designers think that CMYK is the same for every...

Why should I print with Dot Gain?

Hello Mike, I agree with you, BUT when Pantone publish Pantone+ Color Bridge (solid to process) and you could not figure out what is the RPC used for their CMYK build, THEN, how could graphic designer use those CMYK values to print job at NPDC G7 certified printer? Louis

Why should I print with Dot Gain?

About your G7 curves and Pantone book: are you using the Pantone + Color Bridge CMYK builds? If so, that is "normal" you are not getting the expected results. Thos CMYK builds are not made for 25% dot gain but close to 16% and there is no reference profile or specific print conditions (RPC) that...

    PMS 280: conversion to CMYK

G7 - Solids Are Good - Overprints Are Not

Hello Bill, for troubleshooting: have you ever compared solid (100%) against 95% tint? I’ve already seen in flexo, that 95% renders higher density than 100%. Also, what about the sticky back? I already seen that changing the hardness of sticky back changed the rendered density! Louis

CMYK prints the same on every printer!!!

Hello Lukas, I agree with you! I am working in production AND education/training. You are right… understanding what is a solid Pantone, Pantone simulation (in CMYK) and CMYK color recipes base on a specific print condition IS THE KEY they have to learn and understand!
