I would agree with the boil bound option. More chances the book will stay together that way. MGX synthetic paper is the best IMO. We've have mixed results on our Ricoh using Nakoosa, but much more consistent coverage with MGX brand.

I see what you mean. Normally it shouldn't be a problem, however, because that area is going to fall into the gutter of the book. Most of the time anything within 5-10mm (depending on book thickness) will fall into the gutter and not be able to be seen anyway, so you wouldn't even notice it. If...

I know it's still in Beta testing mode, so I'm sure there are going to be some tweaks to it. Like @gordo said, I don't it's right if the photographers aren't getting their credit. I just made the video to show people how their can use the feature.
