    Komori Feeder Problems

Hand stack (wind up)a skid of paper and see if you have the same problem! If it clears up my guess would be static, Something you might want to try is letting the paper climatize in the work area providing you have some sort of climate control.

    Successive Unit Mottling

you could always use multiple passes thru the press and dry trap if you run into color rotation problems. It is more time consuming so you run into a turn around time versus quality issue...

Once again this group has performed to the highest standards. I thank you all.

Seal or No Seal that is the question.

There should be a working communicatiion between the CSR's and the pressroom on such problem jobs, A good CSR should be able to identify a possible problem such as heavy coverage and offset. So there can be any ajustments in pricing if needed. But at the end of the day its the pressroom that...

    printlength issues. constantly.

Seems like this is a regular Heidi issue! I also run an older model speedmaster 102 and we get the same problems as you mention. When we have tight register such as knockouts and 1 unit is printing longer than the others we will add packing to the plate. (We do not have to do this on all jobs)...

    Stochastic screening

Im new to this Stacato style screening and just wondering if this is a new direction the industry is moving as a standard? Also thanks to those that have posted articles on this style of screening. I am a pressman by trade and would hate to be slammed on press with this one day and not know...

    ink duct waterbased coatings

We done a couple of jobs with ink ductor water based coatings. The spray retarder helps some on short stops but clean up when the job is done is time consuming. Recomend you find press with coater unit.

    Inline perfing

thanks for the feedback. Can anyone give me an estimated price on this PPP system? Also you said you used your coating unit. does it if a single BC or double BC. I was thinking of doing this on our coater unit even though it has a double sided BC . I would rather run the perf on a non print unit.

What's the proper way to acclimate your stock ?

If your running into static problems on the feed board try mounting an uncoated stock or piece of paper packing on the feed table under the belts to cover the metal parts. This has helped out alot on our larger presses.

What's the proper way to acclimate your stock ?

Always keep a back up plan available. We work in a climate controled room and still get issues. Especialy when paper arrives same day as printing takes place. If your having static issues: antistatic spray, or tinsel works ok, but rehandeling the skid works best.

    Foaming in Royce Tanks

Temperatures may be causing your foam as well. 55 to 60 degrees works best for us.
