Send high resolution data directly to printer?

Stephen, so you are saying that 1440x1440 data can be sent by Kodak and others to the printer without it being downsampled to the native resolution (720) first? That is what I am hoping to find possible.

Send high resolution data directly to printer?

No argument Gordo. Looking for different information though.

Send high resolution data directly to printer?

"You can't bypass the screening built into the Epson printers" I believe Onyx has its own halftone screening which can be made to replace Epson's contone screening. I assume other rips might offer something similar and I was hoping some proofing solutions, with the need to preserve precise dot...

Send high resolution data directly to printer?

I have been told there is a way to send pre-ripped image data directly to an Epson printer bypassing its own screening and resolution limitations. What I am after is a workflow for bypassing the 720 DPI limit that is commonly considered its native resolution and access the full resolution it is...

Lenticular Prints from the Lytro Illum

I wrote a reasonably detailed tutorial on how the Lytro Illum can be used to create sequences for lenticular prints. If you haven't used the camera it creates image data useful for making 3D printed images along with depth of field and selective focusing. Most people view the images on screen as...

    Piezo vs Thermal print heads

I make lenticular prints and our industry has always promoted piezo print heads (epson, mutoh, mimaki) as being capable of laying down dots more precisely than thermal print heads (hp, kodak). Rather than repeat the same mantra without data it would be useful to know if this is currently still...

    High resolution (PPI) printer

I have used several generations of Epsons with great success with making lenticular prints.

    High resolution (PPI) printer

Hey Martin, can I ask what lens you are planning on printing on, or what effects you are after (3D vs flip)? Gordo's answer is a good one revealing the levels of complexity when you really want to understand how printers handle resolution. Its common to consider the size of the droplets...
