    Myronl DS meters

While they may be a bit pricey, they are the best. I used to sell fountain solutions and have tried all the various pens and other items. Myron is the best and most accurate. Second Bob's statement, don't let the bulb dry out. Also, keep some calibration solution and calibrate from time to time.

Printing on Synthetic Substrates and Foil

Just one more thing ( the old Columbo line ), in winter especially make sure you've got a decent humidity level or you will have so much static it won't matter what you do to knock it down it will wreak havoc.

Printing on Synthetic Substrates and Foil

Cold, looks like you've got it covered. With fountain solution I would make sure that it's fresh, around 4.0 pH and at the manufacturers recommended conductivity for your mix proportions. I highly recommend ionized air bars on the press if it doesn't have them as well as using a static string...

Could Acrylic Be Used as a Substrate in Back Mounting Large Prints (not face mount)

ABS is usually a stock item for most people in 48" x 96" sheets in white or black. It would be worth looking at for you.

Could Acrylic Be Used as a Substrate in Back Mounting Large Prints (not face mount)

Acrylic obviously would work and is one of the cheaper options for you. Depending on the dwell time on your vacumn press styrene or ABS might work for you also and be more cost effective. I believe the melt point of styrene's is around 220 F while acrylic is around 250 F, you should check on...

    Saphira Experiences - Happy Bundles?

At the end of the day, tread carefully with this, it might make sense for some. For most you'll just be paying an inflated cost for consumables. Heidelberg is looking for a new profit stream, not that there is anything wrong with that because that's what business is about. Look at the bigger...

    Saphira Experiences - Happy Bundles?

At the end of the day, Heidelberg will not have all of the best products, there will be other products that perform better. Generally when bundling you pay a premium for consumables in order to pay off equipment or get money back at the end of they year. Great if your company is cash short and...

Thinking about getting a wide format ink jet printer for my photography

Epson and HP are both products I see in many shops for high quality reproductions. Aqueous based inks seem to give some advantages in terms of quality but you lose durability. You might want to post over on Signs101, there are alot of people over there who've been doing this for 10 to 15 years...

    Saphira Experiences - Happy Bundles?

Companies have been what they used to call bundling for years and it can be a great way to improve purchasing power. Many of the manufactureres private label products for Fuji, Heidelberg, etc. So in most cases your getting the same product. My issue is this, one company cannnot effectively...

    Registration problem due to blanket

Contitech always used to make a very durable and consistent blanket, I think Prisco handles them. If it's consistency you're looking for they might be worth evaluating.

    UV vs Conventional Printing

Also, I sell gloss surface two sided rigid pvc which people use to print danglers conventionally all the time. You can print gloss plastics conventionally, the biggest issue usually is the static created and keeping the product feeding through the press well.

    UV vs Conventional Printing

I sell styrene's, pvc's, and other plastics for a living. There are some people printing on plastics using conventional offset and printing very successfully. That being said, printing plastics conventionally requires more care and offers a smaller window for error than printing plastics using...
