    Service Call Rate - Xerox 700 / KM C6501 / Canon C6000

As mentioned above this is not correct. Both have dual fusers.

Digital Printing Press - Price Comparison and More

Really, really hard question to answer, that depends on your business. The Indigo is a huge investment, not just in capital outlay but also in the expertise to run it. If you have the volume to support it, that investment is an entirely worthwhile one. Unfortunately I believe digital print...

Digital Printing Press - Price Comparison and More

If you are doing Photobooks make sure the supplier has *very* good colour management expertise available, and more importantly understands your market. Photos and Photobooks are not 'Production Colour' if your vendor does not understand this, you need to find one that does. I have personally...

    konica 6500 -xerox 5000

How are you finding up time of this machine? We're currently outsourcing to someone using 7000VP and I love the result from it, (more importantly so do my customers), but the guy who owns it seems to have a lot of downtime. I've currently got Canon chasing me on a C6000 purchase. I have to...

KM 6500/6501 VS Canon imagepress 6000

Haha, lately I've been rating them like this. Real Estate salesmen Used Car salesmen Life insurance salesmen Printer salesmen Shark droppings. I know, harsh on shark droppings.

    Xerox 700 or Docucolour 5000

Yeah we've been burnt by the same issue already. The CED will be given the fine tooth comb treatment, as will the lease contract, and this time I'll be having KPI targets and clauses built in. That is if we even decide this is the machine for us.

    Xerox 700 or Docucolour 5000

Excellent, thanks for that matnic. I think we're up for a launch of this machine in about 4 weeks. Our Xerox sales guys have been touting this as the solution to the issues I was having. On the surface of the CED at least it appears to be able to handle the stock I need to run with adequate...

    Xerox versus Canon

Craig is exactly right. It's horses for courses, as much as each manufacturer would like to think they have the silver bullet solution to digital printing, the reality is they don't. Digital print may be out of it's infancy, but if that's so, it's definately entering toddler years. Lots of...

KM 6500/6501 VS Canon imagepress 6000

As said in another thread, money and volume aren't there right now to sustain an Indigo, otherwise in a heartbeat I'd have one.

KM 6500/6501 VS Canon imagepress 6000

Is there any info on this? I'm interested in finding out more. Image quality and no oil are the two most important factors in my purchasing criteria.
  12. T

    Xerox versus Canon

The c6500 is not without it's issues, no digital printer is. Unfortunately I'm finding more and more it's not a case of basing a purchase/lease of a machine on what it can do, but what it can't do. The problem we are seeing now is peoples expectations of what a digital press can do, has well...

    Xerox 700 or Docucolour 5000

Canon Because you're not doing Photobooks. If you were, 65% of your market would be complaining about the oil. The other 35% would just never come back.
  14. T

    Xerox versus Canon

The point I'm making is don't believe the salesman, they were the guys who sold the office copier as an entry level production machine. It depends on what you're printing, my customers hate the look fuser oil leaves, it doesn't matter who the manufacturer is.
  15. T

    Xerox 700 or Docucolour 5000

See now this is where you run into problems, it depends on what you are printing. Having trialed prints from most big presses, (and we specialise in images), the xerox oil based machines get universally panned for their quality, primarily because of the oil, the sheen it puts on the prints...
