    Edit InDesign Templates Online

I'm talking about XMPIE, which uses Adobe's InDesign Server technology to allow people to customize jobs in a web based format. Very cool software, but also very expensive.

    Edit InDesign Templates Online

There is software out there that can do this, but I believe you're looking in the $50,000 plus range from what I've seen so far. If anyone knows of a cheaper way, please let me know as well.

It sounds like they didn't give you all of the font. What size is the zip file before you uncompress it?

problem with .eps/.ai file used in indesign

It's easy, just make your canvas the size you need it and put the original image onto a layer. Remove the "Background" layer so that you have a transparent background. Copy the image onto an new layer and flip it to give your reflection. Then add a layer mask to the reflection layer and using...

problem with .eps/.ai file used in indesign

It looks to me as though you're putting a transparent box over a solid image. I think if you want transparency in this particular case you'd be better off creating the image/reflection in photoshop and saving as a layered tiff or native psd.

    Combine PDFs in Acrobat

Hey guys, does anyone here know how to change the default file size when using the combine PDF feature of Acrobat 9? Currently when I use it, the dialog box opens and there are three icons for choosing file size, the middle one being selected by default. I want these files to print at the...

Tool for reading color from an object?

Pantone makes such a device, we have one at our office. I can't think of it's name right now, but I do know that it's not very accurate. You get a different reading every time you try it. Honestly, we don't even use it. It's much quicker and accurate for us to just match the color to a swatch...

    CMYK into 2 Spot Colors

You won't get exactly the same look, but since it's 2 color silver and gold you could spec out metallic PMS colors. Also, instead of creating gradients I've found that using the blend tool and blending shapes and colors together gives you better reproducibility (is that a word??), and gives you...

    Page Layout Templates

Does your customer at least have access to InDesign? If so you could make a 64-page template for him and create a library of all the possible ad sizes. He could just drag each ad box from the library as he sees fit in order to create his layout. If he doesn't have access to InDesign and needs a...

Changing cmyk photo to pure 100% black

Yes, and I'd like to re-iterate that you must have the channel selected when pasting, otherwise the image may not place in the exact spot you want it to. I've had issues before when pasting in channels, and it's always boiled down to what is selected when doing the pasting.

    How to manage fonts?

I used to use Font Agent Pro as well, until I found Linotype. I have several paid licenses for FAP that are being unused because Linotype was so much better.

    CS4 Photoshop cropping?

It could also be that you accidentally typed in a dimension in the crop tool bar and it's making the crop size small enough that it's cropping the entire image. The shield checkbox will make everything grey if this was the case.
