Does anyone still use Franklin Estimating?

I just realized what we are paying yearly for Franklin Estimating and .. all we get for it is a yearly license key and multiplier update on a Windows XP vm that I have to keep alive.. in 2026.

If you still use Franklin Estimating, why?

If you ditched Franklin Estimating, what did you switch to?

I tried digging around the wayback machine to see if I could find Morning Flight FreeRide V 17.2 but I haven't found anything.

I am tempted to build something on my BaseRow.io instance, but am not sure I want to do that yet. I need to ... tear Franklin apart to figure out what makes it work (figure out the formulas) and I could probably throw it back together in Baserow or QuickBase. Heck, MS Access would even be acceptable at this point.

I am building a web-to-print arm for our shop from the ground up that is my own entity and in that process, I am dragging everyone kicking and screaming from the late 90s into 2026...

Good ol Franklin! We still use it, on a Mac running Parallels. All the press info was baked into it before I started here 20+ years ago. For digital, we apply math into an Additional Operation. It works well for us - but yes, very very old.

We still use Franklin as well. We set up a difficulty factor based on digital printing costs that works fairly well. How did you set up the extra math in Additional Operation?

I use this version, I don't even need to plug it in to work.
