    Color Weirdness

And are any of you using the "Retain CMYK Black" button? It seems to keep the type color stable, but the photo changes drastically.

    Color Weirdness

The 70% black type is gaining cyan because ColorConvert/Match Color is turned on. If we turn it off, the 70% black type stays 70% black. But, photos change color dramatically. I welcome any ideas on a good solution. Thank you.

    Color Weirdness

We have a PDF processed through Prinergy that on the original and the refined PDF the text is 70% black knocking out of a yellow background (2% magenta, 10% yellow). On the 2400dpi VPS the text is a 4-color black with lots of cyan. Has anyone seen this before and where is the cyan coming...

    Preps Colorbars on top

It seems that first mark down prints on top. If we removed crops, add the colorbar, put crops back on, then the colorbar will print on top.

    Preps Colorbars on top

Now our problem is we have hundreds of ready-to-use templates. To use our new SmartMark group of the colorbar and crop marks, we'll have to remove crop marks and colorbars from all of these templates and replace with the SmartMarks. A little time consuming. Is there a better solution?

    Preps Colorbars on top

We got the colorbars to print on top of the crop marks. We just missed a step. Put colorbars and crop marks in a group of SmartMarks. Name them with numbers at the beginning, lowest number will be the top most mark. Worked like a charm. Thank you

    Firefox and InSite

Firefox recently had an update. Now when I select files to Upload to InSite, my upload button doesn't work. Safari does work, but usually I prefer using Firefox. I've changed Java and Safari to run in 32-bit mode. Updated Flash Player plugin this morning to 10.1.r85. Firefox 3.6.12 Mac...

    Preps Colorbars on top

I tried just the Colorbar as a SmartMark with "bring to front". Didn't work. So I tried the Colorbar and Page Crop Marks as SmartMarks. Colorbar with "bring to front" checked, Page Crop Marks with "bring to front" unchecked. Still didn't work. Preps 5.3.3 Prinergy 4.1.2.6

    Preps Colorbars on top

We have a need to make sure colorbars are on the top most layer in our Preps Templates. So far, the only solution we've found is to tell the colorbar to "bring to the front". Then we need to select each crop mark individually and turn off "bring to front". Since we have a multitude of...

    InSite discrepancy

We figured out where things went wrong. We used Pitstop's "Remove Printer Marks" action and it removed the type along with the printer marks. We were able to repeat it.

    InSite discrepancy

Uploaded PDF had white type with drop shadow. The white type didn't show after processing, only the drop shadows. Pitstop says the type is a mask with no fill. Our customer downloaded a 72dpi JPG and the type is white. I downloaded on Mac and PC but the white type is not there. The customer...

    Integris Job Overwrite

The Integris we are using now will not overwrite a job if resent from Prinergy. Then it proofs the original file again, instead of the new one. I know there is a setting that says you can add a suffix to the jobname if the job already exist to prevent this from happening. But where is that...

    Adjusting Color on Integris

We want our Integris to look like the color at our Veris. We made an ICC profile from a Veris IT8 on a Gretag Spectroscan using Profile Wizard Mio. We output a proof using this profile as our Source profile. The color looked identical as before when we were using SWOP as our Source. I went back...

    Epson and icc profile

We printed an IT8 on our Veris (which has great color). Created an ICC profile with a Gretag Spectroscan and Profile Wizard Mio. Used this as our Reference Target for our Integris Proof. The final product was WAY too Yellow and also a little too much Magenta. Can Veris's not be used for...

    Epson and icc profile

We have an Epson 10600, our customer an Epson 9900. We both used our Source profile with the idea our proofs would match. They are not even close. We have the profile in our Prinergy workflow, they are putting it in their Epson controller. Any help would be appreciated.

    GATF color test

Gordo, You are right on the money!! I took a second look and because we are running as process, the screening is creating the illusion of diagonal bars. Thank you!!

    GATF color test

It doesn't look like moiré. It is vector art. The lines are solid and the gaps are solid white. No screens. We are printing this as all process.

    GATF color test

The proofs, the refined file the lines are true vertical and horizontal. On the press sheet, the lines print diagonal. I'm more interested in how the file is built to be able to do this, more than what these lines are used for on press - slur, paper, cylinders, etc.

    GATF color test

Yes, that's it. Except it also has orange and green bars at left and right. The orange bars are the ones that have the weird angles. The Refined PDF looks the lines should be vertical and horizontal.
