    Why do they reject sRGB???

found this thread interesting. i'm just starting to print more colour sensitive jobs and my knowledge of colour and pdf standards is almost non-existent. could anyone recommend any beginner's reading materials to get to grips with this type of stuff?

printing & cutting booklets for the first time

so, as suspected, i can't do fully pre-printed booklets out of totalflow prep. it insists on having some content to print. managed to feed pre-printed covers and pages via CWS with saddle stitch stapling, but the imposition is wrong. next step is to try out impose I guess (i don't have a license...

printing & cutting booklets for the first time

thanks all! i had not thought of printing and cutting first and then feeding into the booklet maker via the post-inserter. I'm not 100% sure but i think the machine (Ricoh) may require some degree of printing per-booklet to stop you getting click-free booklets out of the machine. I'll take a...

printing & cutting booklets for the first time

yes. so i've done two things now: - stopped creasing the covers before printing. I was doing this on a very basic manual creaser which I think isn't very accurate. think this might have given some of the booklets a bit of a skew when bound by the finisher. - flatten out the books neatly...

printing & cutting booklets for the first time

thanks Pippip. I tried this method it - seems to work quite well but then lots of the copies are getting nicks on the spine. I've tried wrapping the stack of books in an additional sheet of card but it doesn't seem to help. any ideas?

printing & cutting booklets for the first time

folks, i've never done booklets before, but have been asked for some A5 stapled booklets on a short deadline. grateful for any help. when i'm cutting the booklets (three-sided trim) i'm having a hard time getting them to cut straight. I wasn't sure whether this is due to the accuracy of the...

Good or bad idea in my situation? (Only selling posters with mounts/mattes)

i don't know why people are bothering to take their time to reply to this guy. he doesn't listen. and then keeps coming back with the same problem. there's plenty of people offered to help. some i think based in the UK as well. but despite not knowing how to solve the problem he insists that...

Xerox Claiming End Of Life for my Xerox C75 in 1 year.

IIRC that guy has a variety of different machines, including a newer KM machine which is on a service and maintenance contract - so he does not have all of his eggs in one basket.

    keeping a machine awake/online (Ricoh C5310)

so i figured this out and it is much improved. problem now though is that the machine has an equitrac card reader for secure access. there is now a big lag on the card reader reading the swipe card when the machine has not been used for a while. Have to hold the card there for like 15...

    Tab cutting

i normally get blank tabs delivered from an overseas supplier as we can't source them all locally. that supplier is not responding at the moment which got me thinking about whether we could cut our own tabs. i looked at some options for tab cutters, including the JBI Onglematic 5...

log counter readings end of each month? Ricoh Pro c5310

Thanks - i mean i can set some reminders in my calendar to do it, but i just know i'll forget or miss it at times. Feels like there should be an automated way of doing it..

scheduling a daily morning print to wake up my printer (Ricoh C5310)?

thanks - i had misunderstood that previously to mean that you could only do one if you did the other, i.e. tell it to power off and then power back on the next morning. i'm going to try it now by telling it to wake up at set intervals throughout the day and see how it goes.

scheduling a daily morning print to wake up my printer (Ricoh C5310)?

Thanks for this - printing the job log is not really an option because it would be leaving confidential data around on the printer.

scheduling a daily morning print to wake up my printer (Ricoh C5310)?

lol they have a 'suggestions forum' for their makeready package Total Flow Prep. i've given lots of feedback on there about how the software could be improved and have asked to speak to the product manager. i've heard nothing back whatsoever.

log counter readings end of each month? Ricoh Pro c5310

Hi all, Wondering if there is a way to automatically take a reading of the counter at the end of each month and then save it somewhere, on a ricoh c5310? We are using Fiery CWS job log and Equitrac to track prints, but we often get a discrepancy between the clicks on the invoice and the clicks...
