Fuji Xerox v3100i verse Km C4070

The 2nd BTR is still an issue, they haven’t changed anything except modified some NVM settings to help extend the life a bit. If you ran only uncoated stock, I would imagine that you would take the BTR to it’s rated life. More coated stock and more heavy coated stock is the problem that shortens...

Fuji Xerox v3100i verse Km C4070

I would agree with this based on the speed and recommended monthly volumes. The c4070 seems to line up more with the Versant 280. c4070 recommended monthly volume 32,500 - max 758,000 3100 recommended monthly volume 250,000 - max 1.2 million The Versant 4100 is now listed at a max of 1.8 million.

Xerox Versant 3100 and 180 end of support

That’s interesting, your lease and service contract are bound together. Mine have been two separate contracts, I could continue paying the same lease amount, but the service contract would end and require to be rewritten. Maybe best not to rock the boat until someone else brings it up. What...

    Fiery impose licenses

I can’t speak about the transition from Impose to Quite Imposing but I have been using Quite for years. I use it for all my imposition including large format. I haven’t found anything that it can’t do and if you do get stuck, they are very helpful in providing a solution (good luck getting this...

    Print problem v180

The background has been there for me since it was installed. It’s light enough that customers don’t notice it, but it does change the brightness of coated paper. It becomes more evident when the black drum starts to reach the end of its life but replacing the drums never eliminates the toner...

How do you manage multiple presses with different overage thresholds?

Talk to your vendor about having no base or minimum monthly charges on the second machine. I have never had a service contract that included a minimum and would not want one. Not sure what owning vs leasing has to do with a base charge for the service contract but if you can’t get them to remove...

"Dry Erase" Posters - Where to Find Wholesale Vendor?

If you have the ability, you can apply the dry erase laminate yourself. If not, you can print or have them printed and then send them to one of your local finishers to laminate with dry erase. I use a 2 mil dry erase laminate for this and it has adhesive, so no need for a large hot laminator to...

    Duplo Dusense doing labels

Too late now but I was given the advice by several vendors not to make my first lease payment or any payments until the issues I had were resolved. It makes it a whole lot easier to have the equipment removed by the vendor, in my case I kept the Duplo and had the Canon removed. Counting on...

    V180 SIQA Alignment Adjustment

^^ This could be the issue. On my 280 I’ll have this error for several reasons and #4 solved a few issues that I was having with 13x19 stock because the sheets were entering the engine a bit too far to one side and the sensors were not always detecting the edge of the sheet properly. The gsm...

    V180 SIQA Alignment Adjustment

When you have this problem select Manual Alignment Adjustment instead of Auto Alignment Adjustment. The manual adjustment will take a bit longer to do but it will get your 13x19 sheet aligned to where you want it.

    Konica 7100 second pass printing

This isn't just a KM issue. When you print and laminate or foil your sheet the heat and pressure will change the dimensions of the sheet. You’re really sucking all the moisture out of the sheets and changing how it will print on the second, third and fourth pass. The larger the sheet the more it...

So... I knew I was going to regret it!

There’s always a possibility for a new machine to have issues but a used or reconditioned one is more likely to need more frequent service. If I remember correctly, you’re doing about the same clicks per month that I do. When I looked at the difference in cost between used and new there was no...

So... I knew I was going to regret it!

I had a similar issue on my 280, first it was the fuser assembly throwing codes. They replaced the fuser assembly and had to replace the pressure roller that is under the fuser unit. The pressure roller was worn on one side and causing the paper to crease. It sounds like you need to dump your...

iJetColor 1175 Pro general color experiences?

2945c is in the color bridge as c100, m53, y2, k16. Not a good visual match to the solid though.

    Upgrading from Xerox V180. Options?

Yikes, 200K every month? Even if you had a brand-new Versant 280 you’d be seeing a tech every other week or more. If you want to stay with Xerox you should be looking at the 4100 with that type of volume.

    Upgrading from Xerox V180. Options?

This makes a lot of sense since it takes longer to get the BTR out of the box than it does to install it. Unfortunately, there are some bean counters that think it’s less expensive to have a tech stop at the office, pick one up and then drive to the customer and install it. All because they...

    Upgrading from Xerox V180. Options?

I upgraded from the V80 and the registration and color consistency are much better on the V280. I’ve had a few other small problems that I never had on the V80 but the 2nd BTR issue is horrendous on the V280 if you run coated stock, especially coated card stock. You’ll need to convince Xerox to...

    Fuji will be demoing a B2 Irridesse/Revoria

I like the stack coming off the press. It explains how the fuser gets hot enough to work properly on a large sheet size, it must be gas or wood fired. :)

Unique Rotation, Skew and Mirroring in Acrobat Pro DC

This was nice video for anyone that hasn’t used this feature before. I know that when I setup a custom paper on my Xerox, the rotation of an image with perpendicular angles compared to the perpendicular shape of the paper stock is called skew. If the image angles are not perpendicular then I...
