Fuji Xerox v3100i verse Km C4070

Yes that's about right. What volume are you currently averaging?

Are you sure? V80 is just slightly older than 3080 but both would be same model range with extremely similar specs.

CW6 Keeps printing in colour, grayscale not overriding?

No, one command workstation on rip. We print jobs from two computers to the rip hold queue. I haven't tested too much, at the moment it's Microsoft word files. I've just never seen or heard of a case where the command workstation can't override the colour to print in grayscale.

CW6 Keeps printing in colour, grayscale not overriding?

Quick query - got a new windows laptop (only used for accounts and basic printouts) set up printer to hold queue loaded Xerox driver. All work fine only I can't get CW6 (run seperately on external rip) to override the colour setting and print grayscale. Works fine from my laptop. In job...

    Upgrading from Xerox V180. Options?

The Ricoh 7500 would be next step up from V180/V280 family. Ricoh C5300 would be the directly comparable to V180/V280. For more than CYMK with Xerox you're into Iridesse comparisons (although the V280 does have an adapter kit available). C7500 without 5th colour would be versus Xerox V4100...

    Konica 7100 second pass printing

I think you're just experiencing as mentioned. You're printing digitally, then laminating and reprinting, it is going to have alignment issues. I'd say anything within 2mm is acceptable giving the circumstances. If you need to get super accurate you either need to move to hot foiling or single...

    Upgrading from Xerox V180. Options?

If you can hold out I would, Xerox V280, Ricoh 5300 and KM 4070 which are all the main competitors in this class are all 3+ years old now. The previous models to each was 3 years before that so 2024 should see new models for each. You can add Fuji into the mix now with the Revoria Press SC180 /...

    Iridesse color consistency issues...

I can tell you now if I had TWO iridesse machines I wouldn't be taking no for an answer. With stupid answers like that from them I'd be giving serious answers back at them to the point of asking if their properly trained as they can't sort it. At the end of the day, no matter what stock...

    Konica vs Xerox?

I'd ditch the V80 if I was you. If it was the newer V180 i'd say keep that but V80 is too old. I'd normally say keep the Xerox if you're getting a new Xerox so the two can share job loads if problems arise as print should match better going forward. The V80 is reaching EOL round the world next...

    Versant 280 Polyester Issue

We use synaps Xm 300gsm and duplex it not problem at all on our v80. Op, if you just use a basic coated 350gsm stock type is it still as bad, just wondering if you've jump straight into custom settings and set something wrong from the get go. It's a very weird effect you're getting. Never...

    Konica vs Xerox?

Not to derail too far but how does that work when you buy your own toner? Are you buying toner and then paying a click charge too, so effectively paying twice for toner?

    Numbering a print job

Not directly on the machine/rip. You need to create the file prior to printing. We do it with the data merge feature in inDesign. You basically create an excel csv file and link it into the inDesign artwork. You can have inDesign spit out a complete file or if the file size is too large or...

    edge printing on Xerox V280

If the other staff can't remember a simple reduction what makes you think they'll bother with custom profile settings.

    Need help in this situation

If that's the case I'd just tell them sorry, contract is a contract. I'm sure if the mistake was in the other direction that's what they'd be saying to you.

    Ink Appearance Iridesse vs Ricoh

I've found over the years it doesn't matter what press a company has, the operator is generally the determining factor of the quality they produce.

    Trapping problem

Have you tried ticking the box at the top "Adobe PDF Print Engine Preferred", this has solved strange issues before. Or open the original pdf and under advance tick, "Print as Image". This might be a workaround.

    Need help in this situation

Check your contract for toner usage limits. Not familiar with Ricoh, I wonder does it have logs of how much toner has been used versus clicks? Is this only on one machine or both they want to increase the click?
