    Pantone color manager (win)

When using the PANTONE METALLICS Solid Coated library, I am not able to see the Ink formulas (Color Details) for any of these colors. Why is this? I am trying to send an email (via Pantone website) to the Pantone Technical Support, but I have no luck... the website reports: Please enter valid...

    ink pigment

I agree with Schnitzel, the paper white (PW) of your sample seems to be too bluish compared to the reference/standard paper white. Our eyes see the paper is really "white"... but translated to instruments they see blue... Check for the value of delta b* of the paper white. Probably the paper has...

    XCMYK and/or DMAXX profiling software

Hi all, My post does not answer the original question, but for your info and just in case you have some “curiosity” ;)... The pic that I have attached to the post shows the SIDs values we were running when we produced a book with the XCMYK 2017.icc profile from Idealliance. The inks used were...

    AGFA & FUJIFILM CTP Devices

Hi all, Talking about CTP devices, I have been said that AGFA and FUJIFILM sell the same equipment, because the CTP manufacturer for both vendors is SCREEN. Could anyone here confirm that the Avalon N8-90 S (Agfa) is exactly the same model that Luxel T-9800 HD-NS (Fuji) ? is there any...

    Plate Counter

We have an Avalon N8 (Agfa), but the manufacturer of the CTP is SCREEN. I think Fujifilm's are also manufactured from SCREEN. In fact they have the 50% of the market share. My advice for you and your client is talk to support/service and get it done.

    Plate Counter

Our device creates an xml file for each plate/separation that has been exposed. I find this very useful because then we are able to feed our MIS. The purpose is to control the real plate consumption for each job (costs) and also to help our logistics people to easily control the stock of plates...

    Plate curves survey

Hi Gordo, nice survey I have voted the second option, however this is not really true and I would like to clarify. - I prefer to use the term "set of curves", each curve attached to an ink because not every unit (same press) print exactly the same way. And then, we use a "set of curves" for...

Thermal offset plates: Heatset Web Offset printing and run lengths

I would like to hear from you if you are using Agfa :Energy Elite Pro or Fujifilm Brillia HD LH-PLE. I am asking for feed-back, so please feel free to comment if you are a commercial web offset printer and you are using one of these brands/models. Are you happy with their durability on-press...

    FastImpose Users???

Well, I guess like many others we have a bunch of signature templates, plate templates and assembly templates. We use a naming convention for .sig and .pla files in order select the right file every time. I must say not all, but some plate templates have their plate marks very well positioned to...

Closed Loop Systems used. Anyone still using LithoTel?

I work for a commercial printer... I just have experience with AutoPilot (RGP) and the X-Rite IntelliTrax, so I would recommend you to have a look at their solutions. You can find more info here: Rutherford Graphic Products

Pantone+ 7433 Solid Coated (Adobe CC wrong Lab values?)

Hi Stephen, thank you for this warm welcome :) I have realized of that too, so I have used two different instruments (eye-one pro), and surprisingly both gave me very similar values. But no, this two eye-one are without filter (no UV cut). I must admit one of them is quite old (Rev B), and the...
