    Who's advice to follow?

You like the ink. I'm sure lots of people like the ink. The fact that your water guy backed out may not be a good sign. I usually went with the ink guy (when I ran ink). He usually knows what works with his ink and what does not. Make sure there are no mechanical issues first. Even the perfect...

Looking for a digital printer for 4x5 pouches with interior foil barrier

You are on the right track with envelope printers. The HAWK line of printers offers UV cure ink, and can print on plastic, poly bags, etc. If you are already using a transport system for the pouches, a HAWK print head and UV lamp could probably be mounted there to print inline if there is enough...

    Need help in this situation

Agreed. Color is a little high. We're at .008 for BW on our color machine. A hair above 3 for color clicks. Try to compromise. You want a dealer that is eager to support you. You won't get that if they are losing money on you. Maybe they will be under .007, but I would try to hold them at no...

Ricoh 9200 paper jam with Munken Polar 300 gsm

Munken Polar seems to have unusually high bulk for 300 GSM. 13.3 caliper compared to around 11-12 for most. It likely thinks there is a double.

Success running NCR on inkjet light production printer?

Epson is a good machine. Ink was a bit expensive. Check out Duplicator Source. He may have a used one to get you started.

Success running NCR on inkjet light production printer?

I was referring to their ComColor inkjet printer line. Their duplicators are good. Duplicators are sold by Riso, Duplo, and Ricoh.

Success running NCR on inkjet light production printer?

Stay away from Riso. The quality isn't there and the ink is also too expensive for print for pay. Aftermarket inks can bring the cost down, but the quality is only adequate for transactional printing.

Success running NCR on inkjet light production printer?

I like the Enterprise machines, but last I checked the ink was very expensive for a print for pay application.

Success running NCR on inkjet light production printer?

If you are wanting to go 100% digital, then inkjet is priceless. One recommended addition is the Kyocera 15000c. You are limited to uncoated papers, but it delivers very-near-offset quality printing. It is an ideal machine to replace offset, especially for all of the spot color work you...

Color rendering with direct offset printing on brown kraft cardboard

Adding opaque white to the mix has always worked out well for us. If the mix calls for white, substitute opaque white. If it doesn't, up to 5% in the mix can bring your color back. 5% being for darker material. Kraft 2%-3%.
