    Banners Quote Surprise...

I have one person who told me she orders from vista print because she can always go back and complain that they used the wrong paper weight and they always just agree and reprint her order for free so she ends up with a bunch of extra prints from them. The downside to being overly generic is...

Canon v900 - Anyone with experience

We love the speed of the v1000 (we are with canon direct) but if the techs can't support it then it's not a good solution. As I've told canon. A running machine is faster than a non-running machine. They already replaced the print engine once and are currently proposing replacing the print...

Canon v900 - Anyone with experience

Canon has officially given up trying to fix our v1000 and we are exploring replacement options. Right now our techs have recommended a pair of v900s as they have a bunch in the field in our area and say that they don't see many issues. Bonus: because there's so many in the field all the techs...

    Copy Job Cost and Pricing...

We've been that way for years. We have a sign in our pickup lobby that gives directions to the closest FedEx Office and/or Office Depot for those who need "instant copies". It just takes too long to stop production to make a copy of a drivers license so we have a sign posted on the outside of...

    Copy Job Cost and Pricing...

I'd tell her the price I quoted is a fair price with the price of labor what it is these days is what I quoted. Lean into the "we pay our employees living wages." This kind of person is usually more civic minded (or wants to claim to be) but then do something like I'm willing to do it for her...

DUPLO 618 ISSUE: Cutting 2 up 9x12 on 13x19 paper not straight cut

When you get smaller cuts towards the end of the sheet (as it's exiting the machine) it's harder for the rollers to hold the sheet down as it cuts. This means on thicker paper the sheets will sometime produce a curve since the sheet will move as it cuts, especially if the blade has gotten dull...

Canon V1000 - Anyone have one? How is it going?

They cleaned out a bunch of things and its a lot better but now they think it's a communication issue between the fiery and the printer so they're planning to replace a motherboard or something to see if that resolves it. So, no solution yet but progress is being made.

    Duplo 616 questions before purchase

I've bought two pieces of equipment from wirebids and both items arrived damaged and unusable even though there were videos of them working prior to the auction. Even paid extra for insurance, they won't cover the damage unless you can get the packaging company to prove that the item was...

    Duplo 616 questions before purchase

Can you even run 80lb text through these? I've never been able to get the 618 to run text weight paper without it causing major issues. IE if I try to run 100lb Text it will technically do it but the static build up causes paper to build up on the cutter which sends little tiny slivers of...

    Job Security

That’s how I feel about names these days. Everybody is spelling everything weird so how do we know if it’s intentional or not lol

    Job Security

The customer would like: 1) To be asked first. 2) The errors corrected. 3) No pricing change. 4) No delays in production. 5) A unicorn, a free trip to the moon and luscious pink.

Canon V1000 - Anyone have one? How is it going?

Our update - we were up for a month but now the v1000 has been down for cardstock production for the better part of 2 weeks. Anything that is "coated" can't be printed (looks like the attached image). We can run lighter media (anything non-coated ) without a problem but if it's media says it's...

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

To the best of my knowledge there is no substantial difference between the Versant 2100 and the Versant 3100. They're still the same basic print engine. We had the exact same problems with our v2100s that you're reporting. Xerox would have to pull of a miracle to ever earn my business back.

    Ricoh for sale ;)

Seriously. Last year, we had a 20k industrial cleanup job in our print shop (insurance claim etc) because a newer repair tech didn't want to go outside in the rain. He emptied like 5 waste toners inside our shop into a black garbage back and then the bag broke and then when he tossed it in the...

    Versant 2100 EX-P Controller...

I'm not sure he's really paying attention. He commented the same comment on a post of a machine that looks like it caught on fire? It did give me a good laugh though.

    Epson acquires Fiery

Is it bad that my greatest hope is that they leave the thing alone and don't try to "fix it" - Like yeah, I know it's got bugs but every company that has tried to "fix" something lately just made it worse (Looking at you FedEx Shipping UI people).

Is the Xerox Versant 180 good enough?

That's 16 sheets of paper. Whether it's doable or not depends on the thickness of the paper. If it's 16 sheets of 20lb bond vs. 16 sheets of 100lb Text. My experience with Xerox finishing equipment was the max we could do was 10 sheets of 28lb (that's a 40pg booklet) with maybe a thicker cover...

    Printing UNITED Feedback

But can you But can you scan patches from two different printers and color match them? My understanding is that’s the main difference is that the Ricoh system allows you to scan patches from different printers and it makes a profile to match the different print engines to a single output. You...
