    Epson 7900 Inline Spectro

If you can provide the same data for the manual measurement I could do a comparison. It'd be better if you could give me the reading file itself instead of the results computed by Taskero. Regardless, your i1(model?) scan shows your Cyan as 1.36dE while your inline shows 4.92dE. This leads me to...

    Pressroom Matching to Proof Guide

Gordo nailed it as I suspected that he would. Running "to the numbers" and then visually verifying that what the numbers are telling you is a match has become our SOP. If they don't match you do your best to find the cause within reasonable limits and resolve it. I work in cartons now but I...

    Epson 7900 Inline Spectro

Can you generate the full report for both? What you've shown me isn't really easily broken down. If not can you give me the measurement data text files themselves? I can throw them into Certified Web and see if I can point anything out. I'm curious what patches are throwing it off so bad as the...

    Epson 7900 Inline Spectro

Have you checked to make sure that you are indeed verifying to the standard that you created? You could be calibrated to GRACoL but verifying to SWOP. Just a thought. Can you post the ORIS/Fujifilm quality report for the failure vs the successful manual scan?

Epson stylus pro 9000, worth repair?

Not knowing the costs of the machines in Norway I can't speak for you locally. However in the USA it would be an easy decision to just buy a new one. It'd not only be cost effective you'd make a pretty large leap in quality, speed, etc.

    Invisible printing

We run an "invisible" litho offset varnish for a number of customers for security purposes. It is only visible under UV/V light.

    Invisible printing

I did a fair amount of research and found zero truly digital solutions. There could be somebody out there selling some of inkjet ink for this. The only way that I can see this being done currently is with something like the Epic CTi-635â„¢ In-line.

    NO jobs in prepress ?

This is quickly becoming standard procedure for many printing plants especially those involved with packaging and labeling. This is out of the box operating mode (track everything) for most of the industry ERP/MIS solutions. We adapted this model because we want to be around 5, 10, 20 years from...

    NO jobs in prepress ?

This is off topic of the main thread but here goes. Here's why a job never truly repeats: The variability of the materials (paper, ink, etc.) in both quality and price is part one. We track every little detail end to end and can audit an order all the way back to the roll of paper, the batch of...

    NO jobs in prepress ?

I work in a true job shop where every order is unique. I worked very hard to purge the term "repeat order" form our facility. Every order gets re-estimated every time - even if there is an established price list with the customer. An item can repeat but the materials allocated, the processes...

    NO jobs in prepress ?

I started in paste up and taking on projects like those described. It's hard to believe that people are still able to do this kind of print work and make money. Even a lot of the smaller (what I now describe as boutique) shops that I know will not accept your Powerpoint file as a pocket folder...

    NO jobs in prepress ?

I whole heartedly agree with you. People look at me like I'm nuts when I say it but the reality of this happening is not far off at all. The need for the expertise is rapidly disappearing and what expertise that is still required is being shifted to estimating and customer service. The job...

    Screen PlateRite8600S Not Exposing Plates

Your other option is to call Fujifilm or Screen and get a quote. I know that Fujifilm USA uses Proactive Technologies for their servers. If your dead set set on building one yourself just match the specs that they provide you in their quote. Do realize that you'll have to order a PIF card...

    Screen PlateRite8600S Not Exposing Plates

There are a few things that you need to figure out first. I'd first try to pinpoint where the problem is (there are a few places). I also have a wildcard that you should take seriously no matter how insane it sounds. Wildcard first: What's the humidity in the room? Do you control or maintain...
