Want to buy a used pump for a DPM 2340. Anyone parting out an old machine?

Thanks for the tip. Just called him. He didn't have the part but gave me some good advice and was very happy to help even after he knew he wasn't going to sell anything. Also, that man has a serious New England accent!

Want to buy a used pump for a DPM 2340. Anyone parting out an old machine?

Looking to buy a used replacement pump for a DPM 2340. Anyone parting out an old machine? I figure it's a long shot but worth asking. Don't want to pay Presstek the retail rate.

DPM 2340 RIP Says Still Heating but Activator Chemicals Actually OVER temperature

Most of the time when we start up our platemaker the RIP will still say it is heating up long after it should be up to temp. If we go stick our finger in the activator you can feel that it is much hotter than usually. We see condensation on certain parts where there normally isn't condensation...

Pause Option in Fiery Command Workstation on Fiery FS100 for Xerox J75

This i did not know about actually. I'll check this out next time we are doing a job that is long enough to warrant it.

Pause Option in Fiery Command Workstation on Fiery FS100 for Xerox J75

We don't have a press that can do process color

Pause Option in Fiery Command Workstation on Fiery FS100 for Xerox J75

Almost all of our work is booklets. We print them uncollated and finish offline. Therefore tracking which run you are in, how many you need to print of that run and then which page range of the job you need to resume printing at in the morning is everything but simple.

Pause Option in Fiery Command Workstation on Fiery FS100 for Xerox J75

Good suggestion. Still sucks that I can't resume but it's better than nothing.

Pause Option in Fiery Command Workstation on Fiery FS100 for Xerox J75

The issue isn't stopping the machine, it's keeping track of what is remaining to be printed in the job

Pause Option in Fiery Command Workstation on Fiery FS100 for Xerox J75

MailGuru We shut both the rip and the printer down every night wonderings We shut down every night because boss's orders. Our building has horrible power (brownouts, blackouts, etc) so we shutdown and unplug everything in our shop every night as a safety measure

Pause Option in Fiery Command Workstation on Fiery FS100 for Xerox J75

Yeah, the whole thing is that we want to be able to suspend/stop/pause the job, shut down and resume in the morning. It would be so simple for command workstation to just do a countdown and then when you hit pause it updates the "num of copies remaining" so that when you start again you can just...

Pause Option in Fiery Command Workstation on Fiery FS100 for Xerox J75

When we run really long jobs that span multiple days we have the need to pause the job at the end of the day and resume the next morning (we shut down every night). The only way we have found to do this is to try to estimate how long X number of runs will take and then just set up the printing...

    Splotchy Blacks -- Any Ideas?

As an example today we are running what is considered a large job for us which is 20k sheets of 11x17 1/1. At .005 per click that would be $200 just for the maintenance (not including a lease/loan). Plates probably cost us $35 plus the cost of a bunch of aggravation and about 4-5 hours of press...

    Splotchy Blacks -- Any Ideas?

No, I actually believe very little that he tells me which is why I posted here in the first place and why it was actually nice to hear people here say that our press really does have limitations in terms of quality. That is something he has been preaching for years.

    Splotchy Blacks -- Any Ideas?

Thanks to everyone here. My understanding is that after changing blankets you should always check pressures... he doesn't do that because all the ink gets everything messy. I think the last time he checked was 3 or 4 years ago because I asked him to. Right now he has one blanket packed with 24lb...

    Splotchy Blacks -- Any Ideas?

He actually tried to pack with 24lb yesterday but the blanket was too tight. I told him to try 20lb but he didn't want to. Maybe I can get him to pack it in a couple days.

    Splotchy Blacks -- Any Ideas?

Ha, unfortunately you are making this statement with out seeing the exact shit output I'm talking about. He changed the blankets and there is probably a 50% improvement in our solids.

    Versant 80 installed

I got hassled about toner just the other day. I can't remember exactly but I think I tried ordering 6 blacks for my J75 (this is not direct from Xerox but like a Xerox certified reseller from whom we bought the printer and have service). The thing that is frustrating is that when I order the...

Colors Looking Washed Out - Xerox J75

Colors Looking Washed Out - Xerox J75

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try switching to GRACoL and Adobe RGB... For the fiery color settings should I then change the "CMYK source" from ISO Coated FOGRA39L to GRACoL? Also, I'm not seeing a place where I would change CMYK rendering to Relative, do you mean switch processing method to...

Colors Looking Washed Out - Xerox J75

No Title -The file is a PDF -The file is an InDesign file that contains a PSD file that I created using some existing art. -For the images, the indesign file and the resultant pdf file, I'm using an icc profile that I saved from the color profile we are using on the J75. -I go to Fiery...
