    HP360 - Latex G7 Targeted Color Calibration

Ok, First: What version of onyx are you running? Second: What are you trying to achieve? I.e, Maximum gamut from your printer or to match a standard? Edit: IF you're trying to match a standard, I.e GRACoL 2013 in your case. I can assure you that your printer will have a larger colour space...

    Monaco Profiler vs I1Profiler

I've had no real reason to use 8mm aperture. Did you build your charts? did you remove all the stuff on the sides for the spectro swing and all the notes on the left? In Gateway, if you mess up page 7 in your case. Can you continue onto page 8, 9 ect? if you can, do 8, then click page 7 and...

Digital printing calibration/profiling Tips & Tools

Schnitzel Thanks mate, Its something that i first didn't know to much about, then when starting to learn about it, i wanted to know more and more about it. For me knowing all this means if there's an issue somewhere with colour for a client, they want something done and they're in a rush because...

Anyone know Onyx well? Changing "default profile"

I forgot to add: I suppose it's more like using Basiccolor. Where you can either let the software determine your profile, or set it to match specific profiles. That's how i 'feel' onyx is working for me.

Anyone know Onyx well? Changing "default profile"

Hi Mike, Thanks for your lengthy reply & for replying on OT also. And yes i do understand that you cannot see it to make a real answer about it. That is quite interesting about the defaultcmyk. The DefaultCMYK (which i think are used for the ink config) are made by the LOGO engine as it...

    Monaco Profiler vs I1Profiler

Never had a problem with gateway and the LFP. Even with gateway inside onyx (which is usually an issue) Try updating it. I did have problems with the spectropad and gateway over wifi at times. Mostly with large ICC charts. But now i mostly do my ink restrictions with it as it's easier and...

Anyone know Onyx well? Changing "default profile"

I've been digging around in onyx's program files to see what's inside, to see if there's some reason why onyx creates the media profiles so poorly. I found a folder (forgot the name) but it had all these default profiles listed. DefaultCMYK, DefaultCMYKO, DefaultCMYKOG ect and the rest of the...

    Monaco Profiler vs I1Profiler

I never used an Xrite device as it could never read through reflective media, I.e acrylic or glass. I went straight to the spectropad. Did the job well. I do believe you get what you pay for with barbieri. Sometimes i do think about getting an i1 pro just to have around, but I dont see no real...

Digital printing calibration/profiling Tips & Tools

Hey Mike, Always appreciate you posting. For the record, yes if you where in this country, I would have called you in with out a doubt. Being out of the country makes things difficult, especially with my shop always getting work piled on. For me though, Even though i did spend a lot of...

    Getting yellow cast on prints

A few tweaks here and there and everything is solved. A bit in the ink restrictions and some in the ICC profile itself. Thanks to all of those for suggestions.

    Monaco Profiler vs I1Profiler

Surprised no one has answered this yet. I cannot give you a proper answer, Although I do use I1Profiler. I do have a copy of monaco given by a friend but i can never get it to view readings. (i dont use a Xrite spectro. I use barbieri devices.) But from what i can say about i1p is it does...

    Wide Format Substrates

From my understanding using onyx. Depending on your printer, could be a 3 or 4 step progress. Ink restrictions: Your ink restrictions by printing out a patch set using minimum ink to maximum ink levels. They get restricted to once they produce maximum colour. (No substrate or media is the same...

    Wide Format Substrates

I also use many different medias. I just create different profiles for each one of them. Yes there's minimal to no dot gain on UV printing, But different substrates respond differently to the inks. Example is PVC and Aluminium composite sheets. The aluminium needs more ink to reproduce the...

    Getting yellow cast on prints

Another update. I've been using the IT8 7.4 charts from the i1 Profiler. I turned off the largest dots on yellow and also all inks. I've tried different medias. And still getting consistent results. Soft proof is real good. When i print it, Same deal. cast is there. I even changed the...

    head wipers for UV ink

Shouldn't be using anything other than what Oce recommend In their Bulletins. you clean the head with a wet swab dipped in isopropyl, purge the head then use the suction thing to pull off the excess ink. 3 years with a 480 and no nozzle outs. No head replacements.

    Getting yellow cast on prints

So i've used a few different types of medias just to see where it's all at. I've only been using the LFP, I've created all new ink restrictions, following this method. https://www.onyxgfx.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Advanced-Ink-Restrictions.pdf They all end up getting restricted roughly...
