    Chipping in Bindery

This^ Problem is when you have heavy coverage on both sides, then you have to choose. I will say that the sharper the blade the less problem you'll have and heavy coverage up is a good tip. Something to consider as well is just because a blade comes back sharpened does not mean it was done...

New Press Install - Fuji Xerox Iridesse

So having never demo'd one or seen one run at all, how well do these machine work as far as when using the metallic colorants. I am very interested in how well these printers print on textured as well if if someone has or had a 7110 and one of these printers can you speak to which one seems to...

    Ricoh Production Printers and NCR

So we have a Ricoh 651 and 7110 both that we run NCR on and haven't had a problem that I'm aware of. I know that Ricoh sent out a service bulletin or whatever the name of it is that they send to techs that did mention to discourage customers from running NCR. The reason was due to the effects of...

Looking for recommendations for digital envelope printer plus

So I was talking to someone who demo'd one of these. What bothered them was in void areas I guess it prints these specks which are really tiny min you but enough to pass on the iJet. Just something to look for if anybody does go and demo these or maybe request a sample packet and see if you see...

    Varnish Over Toner

Ah maybe that's the one I saw in the demo room. We weren't there for that so I didn't give it a thought heck maybe just heard them mention it. Any pos/neg feedback on that msaeger? I would think if they are offering that it probably works fairly well, you would guess anyways.

    Varnish Over Toner

So the scaring I am talking about is if you apply a lot of pressure. I mean when I say scar I mean I could essentially scar toner as well. The description I gave about the scoring really says a lot though. I mean again, if you scratch hard enough you can scar toner so. Uhm so as far as...

    Varnish Over Toner

It will scar it however not actually remove the coating. It is a very durable finish. So we also score which has no negative effect and I mentioned we perfect bind. So I say that because the scores the pb machine creates is well,l somewhat of a knife score. It does have a bead but if you have...

    Varnish Over Toner

Yeah success of UV coating varies dramatically depending on who you talk to and the machine/chemistry that's used as well as the toner that it's being applied to. I can say that as far as flaking goes we have not had issues with that although interestingly enough some papers when cut do produce...

    Varnish Over Toner

Ah okay I see. So we had the option as well not to buy the flashing station, but we did. Problem was it didn't flash it long enough or really "cook it" for lack of a better term. Without that we experienced grief as well. Here is a look at how our machine is setup and I noted the stations:

    Varnish Over Toner

Just out of curiosity, is your UV setup where it has a heat lamp the sheet first passes through and then the sheet is hit with the UV lamp station. I ask because we had this same problem different coater but what we had similar problems and found if we "cooked the sheet twice then followed with...

Measured my first output profile - but is it correct?

So donster to answer your question, NO this is not correct and why you have these results I have no idea. I would only be alarmed by these results if you try to build another profile and they return something similar. A few things to mention though since this is your first profile are: To...

    Ricoh C7110 Scratching coated stock

So I don't know if this is the problem because I think you said you swapped out the fuser and get the same results so that is a bit concerning however, FOR SURE try to run short-grain at those weights to help eliminate scratching in general. I was having the same problem on one of my fusers and...

    Ricoh waste toner bottles

We are in Oregon and have a service contract through Ricoh-USA and have never been told this. There was a point when they would bring them to us when the printers remotely triggered a bottle was full. Since then though it changed to we just order them straight through Myricoh.com. They are part...

    Black appears to be screened?

There you are Stephan good to hear from you again. Thanks for the test pages those helped a lot. So Puch I am having on problem doing this for test for you and that is I am not exactly sure how I print to the printer without involving the rip in some way. I cannot seem to find a way to switch...

    Black appears to be screened?

Hey Matt I appreciate the response. So I think I understand were your going with that and in fact this is a problem we come up against with plots from architects who try to create there own pdfs and allow a conversion to cmyk upon exporting. The plotters seem to not like this and in turn screen...

    Black appears to be screened?

Hey Michael appreciate you taking a stab at this. I do have the GRACoL profile included in the rip library however we run SWoP. So not that I won't give this a shot when I get a chance but you have my attention. Why are you suggesting this, I ask out of curiosity? Thanks again

    Black appears to be screened?

That had no affect on the files I had run earlier today that Stephen had supplied. I understand this to work like this though. If rgb or cmyk are set up as greyscale values it will print using only black toner when enabled.

    Black appears to be screened?

Okay so was able to run those test sheets. All return the same results. What I see is on the left-bottom grid the 100% K is solid fill. Looks great. The Vector/Raster Greyscale tone 10% to 100%: @100% K the Vector is solid the raster is screened (which supports what I have been seeing) The...
