    Achieving accurate proofs question

Hi David I'm interested to know your definition of the word "matches"? We are printing accordingly to ISO 12647-2 and when we are inside the tolerances (∆E) of this standard of both print and proof we have a match. Visually the proof and the print matches. It does not look exactly the same in...

    Achieving accurate proofs question

We have three different simulations on two different proofing substrates. One for Fogra39 on silk coated paper (the substrate wp is according to Fogra39 so no paper simulation is needed). The other proofing paper is a matt coated paper for simulation Fogra47 (with paper simulation) and something...

    AGFA Apogee Prepress 8.5 - Normalizing PDF's from PDF/X-4 to PDF/X1a

I finally got a solution! I've been struggeling with the Preflight Action ap_Input tagging (Expert) and the Document Based mode in the PDF Render, but that approach apparently doesnt work in Export-workflows. Did the following instead and got a good result: Apogee Preflight 1...

    AGFA Apogee Prepress 8.5 - Normalizing PDF's from PDF/X-4 to PDF/X1a

Of course Dov! :) We got about 10 different rips for our different digital presses in our five different print plants (caldera, feiry, hp indigo, creo, rampage, onyx, harlequin). As much as I would like, we can't make all this RIP's to handle PDF/X-4 files (or worse, strange word PDF's) exactly...

    Who is responsible for moaré

Ok, It seems like everybody agrees that the printer i responsible for preventing subject moiré. But the solution to prevent seems to be a proof system that could simulate the actual AM screening or viewing bitmap screening preview of each page manually. Or even worse, the printer operator see...

    Who is responsible for moaré

As Gordo already assumed, the moiré is not caused by a scanned print, it could be a photo of a fabric or a mesh with a certain pattern that interfere with the AM screening. It happens now and then. I know how the problem can be fixed, you could print with FM screening or do a slight blur/noise...

    Who is responsible for moaré

This is a topic that is seldom discussed. Consider the following scenario: • Printer gets a print job • Customers PDF-file is delivered according to specs. • The printer makes a hard proof or a web proof (screening is not simulated) • The client review and sign off the proof • The...

Today I downloaded the free Ghent PDF Output Suite 4.0 and run it through our offset workflow. http://www.gwg.org/download/test-suites/ghent-output-suite/ I've tried this many times before (a few years back) and didn't get a perfect result. But today the test file was processed perfectly and...

Output Intent in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

It depends on how the PDF-file is created. If it doesn't say "Output intent:" before the profile name, the PDF do not have an Output intent (And is not a proper PDF/X-file).
