In my experience the Affinity created PDF's have been as good as anything out of an Adobe app. The PDF's I've received that were created in Canva have been a Sh**show. I'm hoping that the Affinity team can improve things on the Canva side.

So ... the EFI Fiery that you can have outfitted with Acrobat Pro / Pitstop(A PDF Plugin) is not designed to run PDF's? I've been using Fiery's in PDF exclusive environments since at least 2004 and this is a new one on me.

When was the press last "Fingerprinted" at my last sheetfed shop we had a curve for each press that was applied when the plates were made. I believe our ink manufacture came in and worked with Kodak to get the curves into Prinergy.

I ran a DBM attached to a pair of 4000 collators about 10 years ago. The DBM is pretty basic including the trimmer. The blades are also proprietary and were very expensive to replace. We rarely ran anything over 40 pages and it was fine., it doesn't do any kind of crushing .

We had an AB-Dick 2340 at a previous job, it ran from the early 2000's until it was decommissioned last year. We used it with Heidelberg, AB-Dick, Ryobi, Multi and Davidson presses. The downside is you have to deal with plate chemistry.

Are they addressed already? If not you can add the Indicia while inkjetting. It won't be as pretty but, it beats 20k clicks. If you have an inkjet mail system or a vendor who has one that's the best way to add the indica but, your sort will be reversed. That shouldn't matter unless you sorted...
