I don't understand. This was a practice your plant has always done and it just became an issue now? I'm very curious to see if this does truly solve your issue. Please post back after some time. I have a Fuji tech rep coming to our plant today for our line issue.

Same here...lol My shop was a former Heidelberg shop so I assume the euclidean thing was a left over from those days. Same as distorting plates for paper stretch compensation. I had never seen that for offset before coming here. Adds rip time.

I found switching from euclidean to round was seamless. No noticeable difference in repeat work unless you view with a loupe, lol.

We are suddenly experiencing the same thing with Fuji LH-PL plates. Oddly for us, it is occurring at more random position on the sheet but only on the operator side, and only happening on one press. Also initially it was isolated to one unit, but no longer. They have carefully looked the press...

Thanks. Odd that they claim a smoother vignette with euclidean? I can't see that. There's an optical mid bump associated with euclidean. Seems some of that info is outdated (it is 20 years old) and maybe a sales kit for selling their screening technology.

That's a neat concept, but I'd imagine it would need to be calculated for repeat running conditions.

It was just a blanket practice to run plates scaled 99.9% gripper to tail. I don't have the history for the reasoning, I've just never seen this before. It's not a problem, just unusual to me with CTP and aluminum plates. There's some sheet growth on press. Probably about 1/32" over the length...

Any insight would be very helpful and appreciated.

Does anyone distort offset plates for gripper to tail growth compensation? First time I'm seeing it after all these years and found it odd for sheetfed offest.

What the heck did they do? At higher zooms the display becomes unusable...goes blank and rebuilds as blocks as the cursor moves. Is anyone else experiencing this? Running i9 iMacs w Monterey. Ridiculous. I've tried the Illustrator display preferences to no avail.

This is interesting. I hate Oris Color Tuner with a passion. I was going to pursue GMG but this is an option worth investigating. Any current users here with more detailed information?

Probably just a digital comparator software like EyeC or Global Vision. Those are the leaders. There was a lesser company that had a software that did the comparison in a negative format. Can't recall the name. At the time it wasn't sophisticated enough so we went with EyeC. It's for content, I...
