What is the "right' Envelope color printer for a 300-600k a month volume.

What is the price range for the equipment? The need would justify mid-production or heavy production. You have very few options between a tiny Mach 5/6 and Halm Jet/Memjet.

    Ricoh C9200+C7200 v Xerox Iridesse

The only downside to 2 machines is floor space and color matching if you're splitting jobs.

    USPS "Informed Delivery" - Discussion

In addition, Informed shows you pieces of mail from the prior occupant of the address, even though those pieces don't get delivered.....and for those of you that doubted it and for those of you who still thinks the USPS knows what its doing:

    BAUM 2020 Stacker issue

Baum direct has always been very helpful for us, just expensive. I would think they'd give you some direction with no strings attached.

    Xerox V80 v Canon C750

From my experience, a Print Shop should not be buying the 750 or 850 from Canon. The machines I've seen run 12x18 coated stock but unable to consistently pull paper from the POD deck without jamming. This is the full deck, not the Lite version. The 750/850 couldn't maintain front to back...

Polar 71 paper cutter blade doesn't move, but the foot moves perfectly - help?

We had a similar issue once on a Baumcutt. It happened after it was shipped across the country. Turned out a fitting and come loose and wrecked the threads on a pipe inside of the hydraulic tank reservoir. All it took as a new threaded, hydraulic line.

    Addressing software - IMb codes

Hi Crajos, Understood and agree. The software does everything any other postal software does, it's just harder to use. I would still take a demo from the main players, BCC, Accuzip, and Quadient. Then get quotes for the software, NCOA, mail tracking-they charge additional for those add-ons, and...

    Addressing software - IMb codes

There's a few misunderstandings and mis-statements going on here so I'd like to clarify: 1. The reason why there are so many updates aren't because there are bugs in the software. It's because the USPS requires it. There are new datasets released monthly by the USPS and in order for the...

    Canon C10000VP

We had a 6010 for about 4 years and needed to do something last spring because of constant breakdowns. We were doing about 100k 12x18 clicks a month. I demoed the 8000 twice. On my second visit, I saw the same issues the 6010 had....unable to reproduce consistent half tones, heavy on the...

    Riso ComColor 7330 demo

We've tried an add-on RIP with our Memjet. Dull inket is still dull inkjet. It didn't do much for what we were running. Keep in mind it's still the finicky time wasting hardware when it comes to head cleanings and clamshell operations. You're still held hostage by layers of companies all...

    Humidity

Humidity isn't a problem for us in our 10,000 sq ft. You just need to commit to treating it the right way instead of using a band aid which is far too often the case for print shops trying to always do things on the cheap. The amount these places spend on labor dealing with the cheap equipment...

    Humidity

For small to mid sized shops, I'd stick a Honeywell TrueSteam on any HVAC in a room over 1,500 sq. ft. Going on the heavy duty size of residential has worked out great for us and it's a fraction of the cost of industrial. Stick to quality brands like Honeywell and stick to a steam version over...

    Square back booklets

Just wondering if someone who has experience with this Square IT, what is the smallest booklet that this would have an effect on? I'm looking at doing a job of 10,000 booklets that are 8 8.5x11 sheets folded in half and just wondering if this would really make the end product look better.
