    what works for my needs

Thanks jwheeler. I see the options are there. I suppose there's no way to test this unless we have a 506 as well?

    Command Workstation 6

EFI did a webinar on this a few days ago. You may want to check that out..... https://players.brightcove.net/1263232659001/default_default/index.html?videoId=5538752569001 Your Fiery must be version 10 or newer and it does not work with Fiery Central. We have about a dozen high end Fiery...

    what works for my needs

jwheeler, I've considered that in the past, but always end up avoiding them because I like to keep an eye on the prints. Doing an occasional quality check throughout the run can prevent a lot of expensive paper for recycling. Are there any options to deal with that like a proof sheet that...

    what works for my needs

Before jumping on the Canon, I would recommend doing another demo of it in a few months to see if the quality is still where you expect it to be. We had a Canon 6010 for several years and needed to step up to something more robust. I did 2 demos of the 8000 (identical to 10000 mechanically)...

    USPS "Informed Delivery" - Discussion

I'm not a big fan of it either for the reasons mentioned above. How many people aren't even going to bother to go to their mailbox since they know what's there? It takes away some of the 'romance' of looking through the mail and seeing what was sent to you. I believe it has the potential to...

New Riso ComColor 9360: How much quality improvement?

Sign me up as well...I too have been asking the same questions but I've been unable to simply track down a re-seller that can 1) provide me with samples on my stock and artwork and 2) sell and service the machine.

    Neopst Mach 6

Thanks for your time as well Bill, much appreciated. Hopefully some of the pain points mentioned here can be addressed with the new Mach 6!

    Neopst Mach 6

Taken from a press release. Bill, this seems contradictory: “The Mach 6’s new technology-enhanced performance allows customers to handle applications that were previously impossible with our first generation digital color printer,” Longua says. “The MACH 6 will help commercial printers expand...

    Neopst Mach 6

BilL/Kringle, Not to beat a dead horse....but I too have a list of complaints but the one I will mention at this time is the speed. It's rated for the 7,500 per hour running envelopes the short way, yet our Neopost vendor has told us for years the machine is not supported to actually run that...

    Neopst Mach 6

prwhite or BiLongua, what does "Normal runing at 60 ips and 1600x800 dpi, delivering fast production with economical ink usage" translate into finished number of #10 envelopes per hour to reliably compare it to the Mach 5? Is it 50% faster at the same quality?

    Neopst Mach 6

I would have to respectfully disagree with the head cost! The first head I bought for my machine was under $300. They have raised the price over 65% in 5 years. Have you been able to charge 65% more to your clients in 5 years? What makes it worse, due to the design of the machine, we...

    Neopst Mach 6

damfino, I think you are correct. It would appear to be slightly faster and hopefully more refined/user friendly than the Mach 5. Unfortunately, it's still the same overpriced ink and print head that Astro and Neopost have a monopoly on and can some how justify increasing the costs 10-40%...

    Neopst Mach 6

I was glancing at the must see 'ems for GraphX16 and they listed this product and the Neopost AS-650. Does anyone have links to learn more about the Mach 6? I couldn't find anything in my searching. I was an early adopter of version 5 and have been waiting for a better product to be released.

    Canon C9270

The Canon C600, 700, and 800 would all be machines better suited for print shops with better quality and reliability. The 9270 would be a good bw machine that does some color here and there.

    Help in Picking Replacement Printer

You may want to also look at the C600 or C700 from Canon. They are lower end print shop machines that offer quality and productivity several notches above the 9000 series. The C600-800s have been doing extremely well in the market and have been proving to be one of the best options available.

    Help in Picking Replacement Printer

I would recommend a Canon Imagerunner 7000 or 9000 series if you need any color work. They will do pretty good color and excellent black work. The standard Imagepass RIP would be plenty big for most environments.

    Riso Comcolor

None of you are concerned about the 'good enough' quality of the Riso product? I tested their latest and greatest envelope configuration just a couple months ago and compared it to the quality of a Memjet/Neopost/Rena Mach 5, and found there was no comparison. The Memjet dedicated envelope...

    Window envelope printing

I've just completed reviewing the 7110/7150 same as the faster 9110/9150 and would have to say the quality is really bad. These models were the only ones with dedicated envelope feeders and conveyor stackers. I gave them 2 files to test. With the test stock, I included samples from the...

    Window envelope printing

Hello, Wondering if there's anything out there that is capable of printing on standard #10 window envelopes (not special windows that are laser safe) that is faster, equal to or better in quality, and cheaper to run than a Memjet technology filled Rena Mach 5/ Astrojet/ Colordyne/ Formax color...

Shopping for service on a new press

In my area, I was snubbed by Xerox even though we were bringing a million + color clicks to the table. The salesman was uninterested in my business. If you don't get caught with bundled leases with service, you will have more flexibility if there are issues. Corporate philosophy here is to...
